Windows 7 discount for Windows Vista Ultimate users
It would be in the best interest for you guys to give a hefty discount for Windows 7 to those of us who bought Vista Ultimate, seeing as tough i am your highest paying customer and have spend money on a product that you yourself have apologized for not supporting fully. At least I feel like your most loyal customers deserve a free upgrade from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Professional. I, like many other Ultimate users, feel cheated by what you promised for Vista Ultimate users. As a computer science undergraduate student, i strongly appreciate your impact on the industry, but i also am upset that one of the companies that I trust the most is holding back on those who are loyal buyers of their software.
If you look around the internet, i promise you will find that you are loosing thousands of customers a day if you don't calm the masses of angry Ultimate users that are looking for a little justice and decency. If not, you will find that even though I am a Windows 7 RC user and future retail W7 user, i will not be making that purchase until i see some results.

Inappropriate?I feel the same way, ripped off. I was out on day 1 of the release, first person in Staples to buy the upgrade version of Vista Ultimate. No Extras appeared as promised. The Price dropped almost $100 dollars at one point thr the upgrade a year later, rip off, and now they expect me to pay $299 Canadian again for something that is basically should be a Serivce Pack because Vista Ultimate has all the same features anyway. Fool me once shame on me, Fool me twice shame on you.

I was so pissed off when I went to the win7 site only to find that I can get win 7 ultimate for $299.00 (Upgrade) I don;t want the upgrade so the full version is gonna cost me $319.00
I was one of those people who were at the launch party her in Michigan, one of the ones who beleived in the WOW, One of the ones who thought that I would be receiving some good perks for spending $$499.99 on Vista Ultimate that came with Ultimate Extras....Come on MS WTF do I need Dreamscapes for...Did I really pay extra for that? or some extra Launguages....or those stupid Ultimate Desktop backgrounds... Did I have so much faith in MS that I purchased 4 extra copies of Home Premium for my other home computers for $249.00 each only to have the price drop to $149.00 a year later.
Oh and here is the good part.....
If you want more security and more languages upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate again...

Oh hell no if I wanted extra security I would just buy a MAC....I want my M%^&$&RF*&^*#G WIN 7 to have the best damn security in the industry even if I buy HOME Basic....MS you owe it to your loyal customers...you know the ones WHO Paid for the previous versions of security lacking garbage you have put out for the last 20 years.
Upgrade all of us Ultimate customers who beleive the WOW is now bullshit for FREE, yeah thats right for FREE!!!
The funny part is that most of the Ultimate users are the more knowledgable people, you know the ones that could go right over to a MAC with no problem.
So the ball is in MS court now, are you willing to risk a few thousand customers?
I know that if I don't see some results from MS regarding a drastic discount or a free upgrade I will be setting an appointment at my local apple store within the next few weeks.

Inappropriate?I'm running Windows 7 Beta (build 7100) and the main change I've noticed is that it is basically windows vista with a performance fix. Emphasis on the word FIX, its not an upgrade, its a mofo big bug fix from all the crap that ms completely screwed up in Vista. It's absurd that they want vista ultimate users to pay extra for a BUG FIX! I'm disgusted, and if I wasn't a gamer I would have switched to Mac about 5 years ago.

Inappropriate?I really think we (or someone) should start a BIG class action Lawsuit regarding Vista Ultimate. It completely turned out to be a BIG dud and MS even appoligized for it. We never got the value we paid for and now we are being slapped in the face (or worse: bent over) as Vista Ultimate users and not only not given a discount path to W7Ultimate like the opportunity given to premium and professional users, but we are asked to pay more than them with no special discounts offered at all. I think all here would agree that the complete opposite should be occuring, but is not, we should be given a W7Ultimate upgrade for free for not getting any value for our Win Vista Ultimate purchase! If a lawsuit is started please contact me as I want to be included.

Inappropriate?I bought vista when it first came out and, though I expected minor issues here and there, I never thought it would be nearly as bad as it was. I had to deal with multiple updates and problems that microsoft discovered after they released vista, an operating system that is clearly a copy of the mac os that doesn't work half as well. I am actually currently looking for a new computer and it will most likely be a mac. Funny... I used to be so highly against mac...
