Inappropriate?CH,
Thanks for your message. We are proud to have announced our partnerships with Puget Sound Energy and Seattle City Light and are working with them on establishing their automated data feeds. We hope to have these available as soon as possible. Until then you may opt to manually input your energy data from your bill.
Regards,
Karen -
Inappropriate? Why announce the partnerships if the product isn't done yet? I found a link to Hohm on the Seattle City Light homepage. I'd expect the data feed to be in place by then.
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?I completely agree with Joe. Hold off announcing that we can use Hohm within Seattle until the feeds are working. I'm now sitting here having to refresh over and over again waiting on everything to work correctly.
I’m annoyed
-
None in the Washington DC area... -
Inappropriate?MidAmerican is also missing from the midwest...
I have entered 2 months worth but find it tedius and time consuming and if it is going to be that it will not get used. People will not use a manual process period.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hi,
We appreciate your feedback. The Hohm team is working closely with partners to enable users to view their energy consumption through the Hohm service. Customers of these utilities can receive recommendations and monitor energy usage today by entering their utility data manually. Additionally, the service will also provide recommendations without the utility data. Meanwhile, we are establishing partnerships with additional utilities – if you like to get automated data feeds from your utility let us know and we will inform your provider.
Regards,
Travis
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Hi Travis,
Please add feeds for Puget Sound Energy and Seattle City Light.
Thanks,
The People of Seattle

Inappropriate?I'm with Joe and CH -- spent a lot of time entering my home information, and have no desire to spend even more time entering data from my bill. This feels like a premature launch -- even if it is a beta. Some add'l items -- home input isn't condo-sensitive (common walls, other condo characteristics), and some of the drop downs -- like types of window coverings -- weren't anywhere near complete. Would love to use this tool, but please don't waste my time.
I’m short on time and pretty annoyed
-
Inappropriate?Hello dl, et al,
We completely understand your frustration with the data feed issue. We plan to have this resolved soon and hope that you will revisit your Hohm profile once the automated feeds are in place.
We have noted your feedback on the condos and options in the drop downs. Hohm's initial design is to single family homes as they typically consume the most energy. However, we plan to add specific options for condos and apartments in future iterations. In the meantime, you can leave the question blank and Hohm will leverage the most typical option for your area to calculate your Energy Report.
Thank you - Nicole -
Inappropriate?Without the energy data feeds, the tool is completely incapable of estimating my usage.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?i spent 20 minutes answering 200 questions only to get information such as: I can save money by switching to cf bulbs, i can lower the temp on my hot water heater, i can insulate my hot water heater, i can put my computer into hibernation mode when im not using it. what is the value in this site?
i live in 98052 zip (SAME AS MICROSOFT) and you tell me you don't know about Puget Sound Energy. bogus.
I’m bitter for having wasted my time.
-
Eric, Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry you feel like you wasted your time.
With your actual (or estimated) energy usage and energy costs (based on locale), the recommendations will give you savings and beneftis information targeted to you. For example, the lower your water heater temp estimates are not the same for everyone - it is specific to what we know about your energy costs and where your current temp is set (130 vs 140).
Would you be willing to share what you were expecting?
With regard to PSE, we are still working with this partner on establsihing the automated data feeds.

Inappropriate?I am a customer of Southern California Edition & Southern California Gas Co. any idea on their data feeds? Manual entry is a drag.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hi KirkN,
Thanks for your feedback. We are actively pursuing integrating utilities from around the country into Hohm and will announce on our site when their data feeds are active. We appreciate your patience while we get this in place. Please feel free to suggest other utilities that you use in Southern California as well.
Thank you - Nicole
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate? It'd be nice to get some kind of transparency regarding the SPL and other "announced" partnerships - what's the status? You guys said you were working on this a month ago.
I’m neglected
-
Egid, I'm sorry you feel neglected. :( As soon as we can provide an offiical available date, we will post it here. We are working with our announced partners on their implementations to ensure that customers have a great experience once the data feeds are live. Thanks for your patience... -
Inappropriate? How can we help you help ourselves? A small Energy Company on the East Coast called Consolidated Edison is not one of the companies that provides you with data either. What is involved in getting you speaking with the different energy providers?
-
Inappropriate?Fred,
Thanks for your question! You may have already done this, but you can enter the name of your energy provider in the Hohm system (and that you would like automated data feeds provided) which allows us to contact utility companies based on the interest from their customers. you can do this on the Energy provider page - select "My provider is not listed" and then you can enter Con Ed in the text box.
We are already speaking with many providers around the US and hopefully we can make announcements as soon as agreements are reached.
Kind Regards
Karen, Group Program manager, Microsoft Hohm
