Need webpage URL that returns rendered tag as JPG
I'd love to have access to free tags that I can use for my small business. All I need is a webpage that will return a JPG of the tag based on data passed in URL. Something like:
https://tag.microsoft.com/generatetag...
I would get my special devid via a one-time registration with MS. Free devid can be justified by only supporting encoding URLs. The resolved URL would show the encoded webpage but a small frame at the top can be owned and display content as MS chooses. Similar to what Google does when clicking on an image in their image search.

Inappropriate? The Tag URL allows you to create any URL you want, even a URL taking you to an image such as a jpeg file. Where the URLS take you is up to your imagination.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Of course you can already link to any URL you'd like. But the question is, can you "call" Microsoft Tag from a webpagelike this:
-
Inappropriate? The web page you posted is not getting displayed.
Can you reply with the URL enclosed in quotes.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Of course:

Inappropriate?Patrick is asking for a web service similar to the Kaywa one he posted, the scenario is very simple, you call a web url with the info you want to be encoded in the tag and the web service returns you the generated tag image, simple as that. I'm sure this can be done with the recently released API, but its not very well documented how to use the API with web programming languages.
Microsoft Tag Support, can you please provide a examples on how to integrate the tag generation in a web app ?
Best Regards

Inappropriate?Cool but from the Microsoft Tag interface I can change the target address of a Microsoft Tag. How do I do this via your service?
I’m undecided

@Patrick Mackaaij
My opinion, this will made a some security vulnerability.
For example; anyone will create own tag redirecting to an safe content and will spread, and maybe anyone will use this tag for e-mails and web pages, then tag owners will change redirecting address to unsafe content.
But registered users will delete old tags created by oneself and then create new tags...
Am i wrong?
Sorry for my english.. -
Inappropriate?I think http://kolayurl.com/ is not an alternative (yet) since it doesn't offer all the options Microsoft Tag does. Campaign dates, alternative uses (vCard, dialer, free text instead of only URL).
I'd also supply a login with credentials for Microsoft Tag. It's very nice to be able to change the target URL of a Microsoft Tag you've printed in a magazine. I see the security issues but don't think people will create ads which will point to malware sites. It is noted that one should choose a good password for their Microsoft Tag accounts.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hi,
I ́m actually working on a simple demo that is working like this. I ́m going to publish the demo (it ́s an ASP.NET MVC application) along with an article as soon as it ́s done. -
I looking forward to see your service working, since there is not other working way to automatically create a MS tag via the web -
Inappropriate?Maybe you can consider the REST interface at: http://tag.ws.suddenelfilio.net/
