How to transfer database?
I have noticed my database running slow on the original Cha Ching. I stopped attaching pictures to transactions and that has helped somewhat, but it is still a little bit laggy.
I would love to upgrade to the finished, non-beta 2.0 but that seems a ways off. So, I wanted to know if it is advised to try and transfer my database from 1.0 to 2.0, or should I just start from scratch on 2.0?
Let me know any hangups I might incur by transferring my database if that is the suggested method.

Inappropriate?Hi Colby,
Transferring your database is very simple. All you need to do is download and launch Cha-Ching 2.0 B99 and your database will automatically be upgraded.
More information about the most recent upgrade can be found here:
www.midnightapps.com/blog
The only other thing you will need to consider is that you might already have an existing 2.0 database if you have tried 2.0 in the past.
Before upgrading you will want to double check your user/library/application support folder to make sure there isn't an existing folder called Cha_Ching_2.
If there is you can move that folder to your trash before launching.
This will ensure that your existing database will be upgraded during the launch process.

Inappropriate?I have a slightly different version of this question.
I use and trust my current Cha-Ching 1.2 instance (a year and a half of data). I wanted to install the 2.0 Beta under another user account on my Mac. I've tried this, using a database backup from 1.2 and a restore to 2.0, but have always had problems. Correctly reconciled accounts in 1.2 come up with different values in 2.0.
Can you recommend a way to run a 2.0 Beta instance under another user account without upgrading my legacy 1.2 instance? -
Inappropriate? This issue might have been fixed with the last release Sky Guy... You might try again with the latest desktop release and still see if you get the same issue.

I used build 99. In a few accounts it appeared everything was off by the amount of the initial balance when I created the account (seemed to be counted twice). But hard to find a consistent pattern in such a small data set.
I'll clean up everything and try again to see if I can provide better information to go on. I know how hard it is to troubleshoot things you cannot reproduce. ;-)
