Inappropriate? Thanks glad to hear it! We like it quite a lot also :)
We are working hard to make it even better. -
I love this app too, but I'm starting to grow weary of this statement:
"We are working hard to make it even better."
SHOW us. Saying is one thing, but it's been almost a month since we've seen an update of the actual software, so it's annoying to continue to read about all these "great new features" and "bug fixes" but not see any of them for ages. Look, Midnight Apps, you have some very loyal customers, and we all love what you've done here, but you need to deliver more frequently. I don't plan on jumping ship, and I know you've already made many angry and a lot have left you. Please SHOW us you are working toward a better app, rather than trying to placate you're loyal mob with seemingly empty promises.
Steven
ps. I still love you. -
Inappropriate? It isn't feasible to update via the app store more often. It has not been more than a month since the update was released. Because of the way the App Store approval process works it is skewed towards larger feature driven updates with bug fixes built in as opposed to smaller (but still lengthy) bug fix releases.
Given that it can take up to a month at times to even get updates released we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with.
We work to get features out as quickly as possible but this isn't some simple Fart app that we are making.
Try and stay patient. Rome wasn't built in a day :P
We seriously lover our users and are working very hard day in and day out to implement the features everyone is asking for and that takes time you know?
I’m happy

I did say almost a month. I do understand that it takes time for apps to be approved in the app store, but what about Cha-Ching desktop? You control the release schedule for that completely. It is feasible to have a new release for that nearly every day. With it being "beta 99", one would think that this has been happening until you learn that it's been in beta for nearly 3 quarters of a year. -
It takes time to produce updates, and a month isn't very much time at all. Remember not only do they have to do develop the features while fixing existing bugs and then testing it thoroughly before submitting to the app store and then wait for ages to find out if it has gone through or not.
I can't comment on the desktop app though, I don't really use that (I have it, but too be honest the iPhone version does everything I need!) -
Inappropriate? The desktop updates syncs with the iPhone. When we make changes to the way syncing works (for example to support the new transfer feature on the iPhone) we can't release a new desktop version until the iPhone version is released.
Eventually, as things settle down and we aren't making changes to the sync code we will be able to release updates more frequently.
However, until we have added all the features we are planning to add for the iPhone however this won't happen.
It is a balancing act to update the desktop and iPhone app simultaneously but there isn't any way around it at this time. -
Completely fair. I'll just be patient and help out around here while we wait to pass the time :-) Thanks for your presence on the boards.
