Why the change of heart for transaction edits?
Back in the early days of the beta you used an edit window to make changes to a transaction, and removed the sidebar. At some stage, you reverted back to the sidebar.
I'm just wondering the reason for this change, since you were adamant at the time that a new window was the best way?

Inappropriate?We made the change for several reasons but mainly because enough people stated that they did not like it and we felt that it was slowing people down when using Cha-Ching.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease and we decided that an efficient single window UI would be better than the floating panel. We really liked the previous design but went away from it because it was slow for some users.
Additionally, there were some issues with modality and how you can interact with certain elements of the UI.
The floating window was modal, but other items like the calendar pop up etc... were also needing to be modal which caused some conflicts.
We haven't completely finished the new detail pane but once it is done it will be very easy to enter all information about a transaction without zooming around and having to use your mouse a significant amount.

Inappropriate?Would it be possible to add a way to enter transactions on the computer without the sidebar at all? For example, when creating a new transaction have the cursor appear in the transaction table and just be able to tab through the fields? I realize I can tab through the fields now, but I have to use the mouse to choose if its an Income/Expense/Transfer and then to choose the Transfer Account. It would be convenient to be able to type and have the field either auto-correct to the complete name.
