Neutrality
I greatly enjoy this site. The finds are amazing, the posts intelligent, and the discussion/comments relevant and often probing. I just wonder if maybe an issue exists in the presentation of some of the more contentious links. Every potentially fractious (the Christian "cult," intelligent design/evolution, global warming, etc.) link not only portrays the group not in favor of the contributer as unintelligent, it further portrays them as somehow lesser or laughable. A recent post cried out, "have they no perspective?" Another asks, "can they not think?" While the opinions of the posters are valuable, and perhaps correct at times, it is not a logically tenable position to ask for thought from people, and then turn around and tell other people what to think. I suggest a policy which would encourage contributers to do only that, contribute (and briefly summarize the video's contents.) Your (the site's contributers on average) opinions on the subject, frankly, are very heavily one-sided, and in themselves lack perspective. Make the first comment if you must, but do not try to influence a viewer's opinions of the material before they have even seen it. If I want to be told how to think, all I have to do is turn on any major "news" network. They are not intelligent enough to think for me, and apologies in advance for my lack of diplomacy, no one else is either. Not even the good-hearted people who contribute to this site. Just a thought. :)

Inappropriate? It is a challenge to moderate a large user generated content site such as MilkandCookies.com, but we try and be vigilant.
As much as we can, we keep editorial opinions out of the description field.
Comments are available for editorial opinion, and we encourage not only initial comments, but responses and ongoing conversations.
Ideas are fair game, but we draw the line at the personal attacks against other users.
The tenets laid out in our link policy also apply to user comments.
