Q: Links, embeds, players and traffic.
Hello,
I'm a 5min.com employee.
At the end of last week we started getting traffic from you, which was nice, but we've noticed two things that disturbed us:
1) You did not use our player (which is awesome btw:)
but chose to use a link.
2) While checking up an hour ago, I've noticed you've removed the original link, and put a Youtube embed with a similar video.
My question is "WHY?" obviously, on both subjects.
If it's a product issue, I would love to get some feedback from you.
Your input will assist us on our way to excellence.
I'll check back in a short while, but feel free to also reply to Ron(@)5min.com
Thanks,
And have a great week.

Inappropriate?First of all, thanks for noticing. We love 5Min.com and we have many links on our site which use your player. ;)
For most sites that allow embedded media players, we automatically embed the player rather than post the link. It was an oversight on our part that we missed putting 5Min.com in our embed parsing list.
So when a MilkandCookies user posted the link to our site and it showed up as a URL. I noticed the URL and embedded the video manually. However, I noticed that the player is different than it was in the past.
I felt the overabundance of controls on the player is distracting. I looked around your site to see if there was a way to hide them by default, and I didn't see anything. So I put up the YouTube video because they have options for embedders like us to opt into a simpler interface and no menu at the end.
Please let us know if you have any such options or if you plan to make them available.
I’m hopefull
