Mint can't handle communication errors with FI's. Last reply on June 25, 2008 18:07.
A single connection error prompts me to re-enter my login information? GAH! Extremely inconvenient and a royal pain in the patootie.
Let me elaborate - Mint had a problem logging into my Discover card account.
Now, I *know* the credentials are correct, because I use Mint just about daily, and I log into Discover just about daily, but instead of having a link to "retry" clicking on that link prompts me to set up the account all over again (from within Mint). It wouldn't be so bad if it was just a username and password, but I also have to remember which secret questions and answers, too. Argh!
If you're concerned that too many login attempts may lock out someone's account, fine. Say so, but give me the option to proceed and request that you simply retry the login with the same credentials. Why force me to start back at square one?
Odds are theres was a hiccup either in the EDI feed or the screen scraping that you're doing, and to waste my time to re-set everything back up is a royal inconvenience.
Thanks. -

My paypal account failed and was replaced by a "mint does not support your bank, Click ok to remove these accounts"
There is no OK button, only "cancel". Nothing happens when I click the cancel button or the red X. -

The same transaction is showing up multiple times. Last reply on November 20, 2007 06:05.
This is happening in different accounts, such as checking and credit cards. One transaction will be repeated as many as 20(!) times.
The account balances are right, but the spending totals and trends are all out of whack. -

Can't Verify Phone As Sprint Customer
I can't setup mobile alerts for my account. I never receive the verification codes. My carrier is Sprint. I have experienced problems verifying my phone with other web apps as well. I think Sprint somehow blocks these messages. Can you provide some other type of phone verification please? Can you verify that other Sprint customers are having problems verifying their phones for Mint as well? -

My weekly account summary email is broken. Last reply on December 18, 2007 04:11.

It looks like perhaps you didn't properly format the multi-part message.
It would be great to have the sexy back. -

"Always rename" and "Always categorize" don't work. Last reply on November 15, 2007 23:11.
Every time a repeat transaction shows up on Mint, it shows with it's original name, even though I went through the first time and renamed things with the "Always rename" box checked. Wal-Mart always shows as "Wal" and I have to go in and rename it to "Wal-Mart" and recategorize it as shopping, even though I have done this four times now with the "always rename" and "always categorize" boxes checked. These checkboxes are a good idea, but they don't work; please fix them. -

Mint only gets the balance for my Chase card, not the transactions. Last reply on October 16, 2007 02:05.
Mint "supports" my Chase credit card, but it only gets the balance and credit limit, not any information on the interest rate or -- much more importantly -- the list of transactions. If Mint only shows me the current balance, it isn't effectively tracking my spending or helping me budget. -

BUG: text bleeding through in "popout" modal overlay - I have a fix Last reply on October 05, 2007 15:12.
We were having the same issue here on getsatisfaction.com in Firefox for the mac.
I believe the fix came from placing the modal html outside of the main content wrapper.
Hope this helps -

Mint lies about "Last updated" time Last reply on October 04, 2007 04:25.
Mint is lying to me about the "Last updated" time. I logged in today and it shows "Last updated 2 hours ago" on all my accounts, but I noticed at least two of them (PayPal and Chase) were outdated. When I clicked the button and forced those accounts to update, the balances changed and new transactions appeared. Maybe Mint tried to automatically update them 2 hours ago, but since it didn't succeed, it doesn't count... -

Different transactions, different POS names, but they are treated the same in Mint Last reply on October 03, 2007 06:07.
I shop at Costco. My purchases from Costco show up as "Costco Whse". Gasoline purchased from Costco shows up as "Costco Gas". Very simple. Mint, however, shows them both as "Costco" and so any rules that I apply about changing the category apply to both.
I tried renaming one to "Costco Gas" manually and then changing the category to Fuel. That worked until I logged out. The next time I logged in, all of the Costco transactions showed up as "Costco Gas" and they were all categorized as Fuel. Why is it so difficult for Mint to differentiate between these? Why does it mess with things I've done manually? Renaming one transaction shouldn't rename any others if I do not check the box on the rename screen. They are totally different kinds of purchases, so lumping them together effectively kills the purpose of using Mint to analyze expenses at all. -

How does mint update balances? It seems to take a few days to get the right number even when I run a manual update. Has anyone else noticed this? Last reply on October 03, 2007 06:06.
For an app like this to be accurate, it is essential that it has up to date information. If I have to go double check my balance at my bank's website it defeats the purpose of Mint. -

Why can't I change the categories for my transactions? Last reply on September 29, 2007 23:45.
On some of my transactions, they show up as "Garden & home" (or something like that) as the category. They are bank transfers, so I have no idea what that has to do with gardening. I cannot change the category, however. I click on the transaction and then click on the category button, but nothing happens. With all my other transactions, doing this same thing makes a box appear with a list of categories and I choose the correct one. Is something broken? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Why can't I change the category on some transactions? - 12 Replies 7 Followers
