How does mint update balances? It seems to take a few days to get the right number even when I run a manual update. Has anyone else noticed this?
For an app like this to be accurate, it is essential that it has up to date information. If I have to go double check my balance at my bank's website it defeats the purpose of Mint.

Inappropriate?This is definitely a problem at present. I'm assuming it's a temporary issue because this delay does impair its usefulness. It might be part of the scaling issues they've been having since their userbase jumped dramatically earlier this week. They optimized the adding of accounts, but they may still be working on optimizing the updating of accounts (it's probably batch processed on some basis).

The accounts are said to be up-to-date by mint but they are way off. My balances in mint.com are always 24-48 hours delayed. So if it is Wednesday, mint is showing me what all of my balances were on Monday. Really makes mint useless for me. I love mint and the idea behind it, but I only login once a month or so just because the account balances are so off.

Inappropriate?Depending on the financial institution, there are several reasons that your account balances may appear 'out of date'. With a little more information I think we can help.
Are the out of date balances that you see on Mint.com or in emails that Mint sends you?
Does your bank often have connection issues with Mint?
Are pending transactions on your banks site displayed in a different area of that site or have a different status?
Is this a problem for all your banks or just some? -

2. Never seen a connection issue
3. Pending transactions show up with all of the rest of the transactions
4. Problem happens with both bank accounts (They are from different banks), and at least 3 of 5 credit cards (could be all 5) -

Inappropriate?Having a similar issue, my balances are always a day or more late, and the available balance on BoA is almost never matched up with what mint says. If I'm giving mint my bank login info, why can't it properly fetch those values?

Inappropriate?Simple steps to reproduce for Chase checking:
1. Open up Mint. The balance for my Chase checking account says $2,000.
2. Open up actual Chase website in a new tab. My actual balance is $1,000.
3. Go back to Mint. Hit manual refresh. Says OK successful, but balance still out of date ($2,000).

Mint doesn't seem to take into account pending transactions. They have to post before they show up in mint. -
Inappropriate?Mint does not seem to update nightly at all. You have to log in manually to get the accounts to update. Why would I configure alerts if I need to log in every day to do this? WTF?

Inappropriate?I'm having the same issues - it's pointless to use Mint if it continues to be unsuccessful in updating my account, and it has nothing to do with the password, as it's worked in the past with Mint. Is this normal, or is this planning to be fixed?

Inappropriate?I'm also having the same issue. It's one of the two things (the other being native cash transaction support without the "split withdrawal" workaround) that's stopping me from adopting mint full time. I've been waiting for this issue to be fixed for a year now.
