Use Mint offline -- when might this happen?
Hey, anyone have a clue
as to when Mint.com will be able to be synced offline
using Google's GEARS, or by some other method?
My partner and I want to use Mint, but the lack of being able
to access our finances where there is no web access
is a dealbreaker now. She is out of range a lot of the time,
and my connection is sometimes down.
Please be as specific as you can in your answer.
Love Mint otherwise. Thanks.

Feedback from our users is extremely important when planning the course of Mint.com, so we appreciate your request. Whether or not we'll implement this is something we can't announce or promise at this time.
Thanks!

As someone who works in a similar industry to Mint, what you're saying is pointless. You keep harping on the fact that you're a "potential user", however, the service is free. You being a user adds overhead to Mint, which costs money. The only time they make money off of you is if you act on a suggestion they make for saving you money.
You said: Please be as specific as you can in your answer. -- The fact of the matter is, Justin was as specific as he could be.
Now, I'm sure if you were to offer to pay for the development costs to have the feature you want implemented, Mint would be more than willing to create that feature for you!
For a free service, the company has to look at many factors and trending in requests. They can't implement every request made by every user. Expecting that is absurd. If you and half the other Mint users wanted this feature, it would make sense to implement it.
About the "not timely" response. Let me ask a question. Are you paying for support? No? Then Mint's response was timely. Everything Mint's employees do has a dollar value associated with it. You can't expect them to cater to your time table.
Enough ranting. Have a nice day! Keep up the good work Mint! Most of us appreciate you! It's just the ones that don't that take the time to say so, unfortunately...

Inappropriate?HEY Mint employees,
Please reply to my question about using your service OFFLINE in the future--is it in the concept phase, on the drawing boards, about to happen....
It's been a week, and we 'd like to know your plans so that we can decide whether or not to begin using Mint.
I'm sure others are curious as well, and I'd appreciate a real answer.
I’m waiting

Inappropriate?Like getting blood out of a stone, it's hard to get a timely, simple answer from Mint.com on the issue that concerns me. I've obviously not asked for a promise -- I wanted to know if it is an explicit goal, is it being considered on a wishlist, has it even been discussed.
Blah-blah non-answer -- consider trying harder to give a useful, un-delayed answer to a basic question if you do, in fact, appreciate inquiries from potential users.
I’m giving up asking Mint.

Inappropriate? Our reply was both timely and simple.
There's no need to go down this path in hope that getting angry on the internet is going to yield positive results for anyone. We're in a competitive market and need to play our cards closely. You said please be specific in our answer. We can't do that, and expecting any company to is pretty absurd. "Dear Apple, are you releasing a tablet computer? Please be specific in your answer." So when we — or any other company, for that matter — say things like "feedback from our users is extremely important when planning [our course], so we appreciate your request," we're being honest. We hear you loud and clear, and we're responding publicly by acknowledging your comment. Maybe we think it's a great idea, or maybe we think it's not right for our product's direction. That's not something we can divulge. What we can divulge is that what we read on GetSatisfaction, our forums, Twitter, Facebook, customer emails, etc. (including your post on GS) all have tremendous impact on our product's development. -
Inappropriate?Your answer obviously is not timely; it ignores the thread--see above.
It is a vague non-answer. With my single, simple, respectful question repeated in several locations beginning 3 weeks ago, I was not exactly prying for valuable top-secret Mint.com business strategies; I asked for an answer as specific as you can to get a focused reply. I clearly got a very delayed, canned non-answer.
There is a way to answer a potential user's concern, and you have not learned how, nor are you taking a clue. That's o.k.-- I'm really over it ;) -

Inappropriate? This is a fantastic Idea. I have a mint account and love it, but I wanted something more comprehensive so I invested in a copy of Quicken. To my surprise, it lacked many attributes of the mint website. I will certainly be returning it as I cannot keep track of my student loans that are currently in repayment in real-time. Mint is fantastic with this, but it does not allow me access to all of the companies currently holding the loans. most specifically the "department of education" which, if the house bill that passed today passes the senate will be THE ONLY student loan lender. I love mint and look forward to an integrated offline experience.
I’m Excited
