We do plan to produce asdoc output for the modestmaps API soon - the source is already commented with this in mind. I expect we will have a few corrections to make once we read the documentation. Translations would be welcome.
All our other documentation is currently at http://modestmaps.mapstraction.com/trac/ - due to spam problems on the wiki I don't think we allow people to create their own accounts at the moment. If you would like to help add/edit/translate the documentation email me - tom (at) stamen.com and I'll get you an account. This is an open offer for anyone else who would like to help improve documentation.
