CPU requirements for play back
The embedded player for both SD and HD clips seems to really stuff on low spec PC's for example Atom netbooks.
I could play the same clips fine via youtube. Is the player; even in SD known for this? Can it be remedied.
I assume I am inserting the clips correctly. I click on "Playback Difficulties? Watch in Standard Definition" and then take the embed code from the resulting video.
To me looking at both the HD and SD embed videos the result looks very similar.
Am I missing something. Can't help but think there is another lower bit rate video or player there somewhere and I'm missing something. As it is I'm starting to look at a second site to blog videos for lesser PC's. Seems a shame to need that.
Does anyone else have the same issue?
Regards
Richard.

Inappropriate?Hi Richard,
HD or high quality playback can be resource intensive and for best quality viewing, you’ll want a fast system processor (computer) with a quality updated video card too. Most people that have trouble with HD playback on their computer use the SD player which usually works quite well for them.
We *do* have a third player, however, which you might be interested in - its called the "Filmstrip" player. You can access it by clicking on the "Show Filmstrip" link below the SD or HD player. You can embed this player on your blog as well and it might work better for viewers who have older computers.
Hope that helps!
Best regards,
Mona H.

Inappropriate?I want to use that one. I suspect it has a lower CPU requirement but my videos are private and the filmstrip player doesn't want to work when embedded. Any ideas?

Inappropriate?Hi Richard,
Unfortunately, there is an issue with embedding the filmstrip player with private or protected videos. We're terribly sorry for this inconvenience.
This may not be an item which is resolved soon so the only way currently to embed successfully the filmstrip player is to set the video as open access. This may work out if you want to embed the video temporarily and keep all of your others as private. Once your video is no longer embedded, you can set it back to private.
I'n not sure if those are options for you, but we do hope you'll have more success with embeds and playback.
Please continue to let us know if you have any further questions.
Best regards,
Anita W.
