Moho SLiX shock stats, pivots and derailleur hangers.
I'm looking to replace the rear shock (Rock Shox SID) on my Moho SLiX. What is the overall shock length and the stroke (in millimetres)? Also I'm not tech savvy enough to recognise if the pivots are bearings or bushes- bushes, methinks but can you confirm and source replacements? one last thing, are there any derailleur hangers left in stock? Thanks. Mark, Scotland.

Inappropriate?SLiX rear shock specs are (6.5") 165mm eye to eye and (1.5") 38mm stroke
The upper bushings (spacers) are 6 x 41 (best i could measure)
The lower bushings (spacers) are 6 x 22.2 (this is standard MC spec)
Hope this helps (sorry it took so long I had to un-bury an old SLiX to find the spec).
I’m measured up

Inappropriate? It's not a small by any chance??

Yes, it is a small. Why do you ask, if I may ask? I suspect you're a fellow Scot, by the way. -
Inappropriate?PS: SLix and Moho SLiX may have different uperhardware I'm checking it out.

Hi,
Hmm...What's the difference between the Slix and Moho Slix, and is this determined by the year it was manufactured? I'm curious because I own a 2005 MC Slix frame that I purchased as NOS from my brothers LBS and shop manager wasn't an employee when they got frameset and he knew very little about it
Regards

Inappropriate? The major difference is early MOHO SLiX(2001-2002) has the full monocoque (delta box) construction (from the head tube half way to the seat tube). It also had the shock mount high and horizontal. Then (around 2003) It was changed to a tube / monocoque gusseted frame. The linkage was slightly modified and the shock mount went vertical toward the BB. To the best of my knowledge the d-hangers remained the same. The Name was changed late 03ish to just SLiX and the last run was finished in 04. It was then replaced by the Zen in 2004.

Dark Horse,
Thank you so much for your time + Slix model info.
Since you were such a big help before, that I have a couple follow-up Zen questions
Besides the "slicker" look of the shock mount location, what was the major reason why MC designers moved away from the lower vertical shock mount position (a la Slix)?
There are still a handful of NOS Zens selling on the web and I was wondering what year was the last mfg run for the Zen?
Since the true 4" XC specific FS frame is gone from current line, is there going to be a rebirth of this style of bike for all the Slix/Zen owners/riders (like myself) who continue to update their current rigs ('09 Cane Creek Cloud 9 on Slix gets an A)?
Thanks again for everything -
Inappropriate?Hi Mark,
Thank you for posting important question regarding the MOHO. I am going to check what is the stock availability for this model regarding the spare parts, but for the technical inquieries, I will pass the message to our competent staff in this area. You are in Scotland as I understand...please send me a direct email to euhq@mountaincycle.com and I can keep a close eye on the response regarding the products and tech. If you have any further question or request further assistance from me, please do not hesitate
I am looking forward to your email

Inappropriate?Looking to swap a medium for a small if possible! The GF was trying full suss on the SLiX but it's a bit big for her. I may just seel it as a frameset though.
Does anyone have a the geometry measurements for the small and medium SLiX? Actual top tube, seat post centre centre and centre top are the key ones I need.#
Cheers,
Gus
Mark, yup I'm in Perth, you? -
Hi Gus, I'm down in Kirkintilloch, NE of Glasgow. I'm either looking to upgrade the SLiX or punt the frame keeping the rest of the build kit. It's a black one btw. If you're interested in the frame let me know- the paintwork's got wear and tear (cable rub etc) and since I'm labelophobic I've stripped the decals. A respray (or Hammerite!) if the paintwork matters would sort the aesthetics and I'm sure the guys at MC or Ebay will see you alright for a fresh set of stickers. The real issue is the shock which is needing replaced. I'm still humming and hawing about keeping the bike or changing (downgrading) to a hardtail. Your reply may make up my mind one way or another!

Inappropriate?John had SLiX der hangers in the States a few months ago BTW

Inappropriate?Just to clear a little up with the pictures. The blue MOHO SLiX is an early version and the red is the later. I suspect the pivot changed (from the high horz to low vert) based on the frame/linkage design.
Where are the NOS ZENs ? Last official year of production for Zen known is 2006
There will be an XC platform again :) -
D.H.,
Thanks again for the info. Here is address (for a cut/paste job) to the NOS 2006 Zen frames (only available in Black and Small)
http://greenfishsports.com/product/35...
I AM SO happy to hear that the XC specific platform will be returning...if you happen to have any say in rear end design could you please ask that they have enough space for a 650b wheel
Best Regards

Inappropriate?Depending on the year there were 4 sizes of MOHO SLiX. X-small, Small, Medium, Large.
I have measured a couple and here is what I think they are.
Small Medium
Physical TT (center to center) 21.5" 22.5
Seat Tube (center to top) 18" 19"
