Inappropriate?Hi Mike.
I am watching your posted question with interest...My friend recently sheared the deltabox mainframe right around the circumference of the frame in the heat affected zone(caused from the welding) of the main swingarm pivot tube.(I have several photos to show, if interested)We were on a road ride at the time of this catagoric crack whils he was pedaling. He is also looking for a replacement deltabox.MC were not too helpful in assisting him.I believe that they need a better spare parts backup in place. If you find a replacement mainframe and wish to sell yours please give me a yeodle....Thanks and best regards,Roy. -
Inappropriate?Roy,
Yeah i am hoping someone will reply from MC with an ansewer. I have a MC Sin i bought 3 years ago and i love that bike too, i have been a loyal MC customer since 2000, i even sold them at my local bike shop when i was a bike salesman in that year. Id hate to have to throw out the main frame if i cant get a new frame( willing to purchase new if i get a good price) ill turn it into a single speed FS bike.ok, MC peopel let me kow what my options are.....
kinidly,

Inappropriate?Mike you could go with an e-type mech - you would probably need to change the BB to a 73mm etype compatible. Most of the outboard BB's will accomodate that and Truvativ do that size in ISIS.
Bare in mind that the San Andreas is out of production, I don't believe they even got the moulds from Kinesis. Kinesis beat MC into the ground and these guys are just trying to do their best to get the brand up and running again. -
Inappropriate?Oh yeah, man i didnt even think of e-type good suggestion, i am going to contact my local Bike shop and see what he can get me, i have a brand new sram X0 top pull bottom swing front Der. guess i could see if they would take it back and order me an e-type. I al so have a brand new Race face xc crank set for this bike, i am going to check tonight and see if it is E-type compatiable. Dood, thanks for the great suggestion, i am going to give it a shot.
thanks

Inappropriate?from what i hear..MC dont have the press used to make the san andreas anymore.
but there was talk of a aniversary version.so maybe they do have a press :P
have you tried emailing them?,i know they had some old ex demo frames left over.. but not sure on what they was.
also keep your eyes peeled on ebay. seen a lot of san's go through there

why would somone cut the mech post down? -
Inappropriate? As many MC riders know the San An has been gone for a while. Sorry no mainframes at this point. The Anniversary Edition will not be available anytime soon.
RE Sin: Get a Shockwave...
E-Type should work a mentioned by Kiltedskier
Thanks to all the Loyal MC Family

Inappropriate?Skellz...
I cut the post becasue last year, i had talked to the last tech guy cant recall his name begain with a P. Becasue i was putting on a different rear shock, and we talked for weeks about EtoE lengths, and spring loads, and when it came to time order my schock i order one and it was causing problems with my triple chainring so in order for it to work i had to make it a double ring, the clerance was an issues when i sat on the bike the mech. part in the front were the front deraillur was caused the frame to hit, so to stop the hitting of the box main frame to the rear frame i cut the post and that worked. Not thinking that i would use the frame again to build up a new Cross Country bike, i messed myself up by doing so. SOOOO.. now i am on the hunt for a San Andreas frame, ill check ebay ever often, and look back here from time to time. Its a shame i really really, loved that bike. Ill see if i can get the other type front der. as mentioned. if it doesnt work out then it becomes a single speed FS.. thanks everyone for your help..

Bargain! They have XT e-type for £17.99 also. Bare in mind that the E-13 DRS has an optional E-type back plate (mech mounts straight to the back plate) if you want to keep a chain device on (this is the way I am going with the Battery with a Problem Solvers clamp on cable stop).
What model of Race Face crankset is it? -
Its the race Face Ride Crankset.. -
Inappropriate?Just like to add a little comment with regards to availability of older spares, and particularly things like complete San Andreas frames.
It's something we do take very seriously, we do genuinely bend over backwards to help out as much as we possibly can with these older spares. but it helps if you guys also understand that sometimes we have no options, believe me if we don't have these frames it is for some very good reasons.
Certainly eBay is a very good source for older spares like this, but I'd like also to give you a heads up on a service that we have started offering, on a as-needed/as-available basis:
Anybody using our 50/50 policy is required to return the older frame to us, in principle this means that we will be able to start stockpiling a selection of older frames and hardware at our office. Yes these components will be used, and they will be sent out without any warranty.
But our hope is that we'll be able to start helping more customers source older spares which, commercially speaking, we are unable to order in significant quantities today. -
Inappropriate?See this is another reason why i truly endorse MC, I have two of your bikes and i push them to all my frineds and new biking buddies, i dont see any other bike company offering this and thus is the reason why i continue to purchase MC bikes.

Inappropriate? Also like to add, that I hope Kinesis isn’t causing this problem for you great folks at MC, I’d be very disappointed if they were playing those childish games. When you folks purchased MC to bring it back to life after Kenisis killed the bike line and product, id sure hope your money also got you the blue prints and frame prototypes to start rebuilding this great bike, if they didn’t give you everything then shame on them!.. Maybe you folk can change a line in the frame design and retool it to a new Mc San Andrea’s bike type. I wish you all the best and I’ll always be a MC loyal customer and fan.

Ok I'm confused by this. RIDE crankset; RF say you can use 73mm + chain device but not 73mm + E-type mech. Both are 2.5 mm wide mounts - ie 0 spacers used but not sure why a mech wouldn't work. Wrong chainline?
Atlas, Diablous and Evolve XC all say you can use 73mm chainguide or e-type mech. -
Inappropriate?I have a near perfect original San Andreas we rescued from a fire. Only minor smoke, no heat. This is a beautiful bike and we need to sell it. Please contact me at 360-442-1773 for more info.
