In the previous version I can download video from you tube using the real player add-on "Download this video" but in the latest version I chose this option of downloading however it is not working. any solution for that?

After I ran the update of Thunderbird this week, I can no longer e-mail photos from my
Thumbs program. What can I do to restore this capability?

I have my Hotmail account linked to Thunderbird but when I click on get mail I get the Alert: "Failed to connect to server username@hotmail.com". When I click ok it retrieves my mail. How do I get this fixed?

I'm unable to view incoming messages from certain accounts in RTF/html. If they're sent in plain text I can open them without a problem. Interestingly, I can view the message source of the problematic messages and see the content just fine, but they won't display in the regular message window. I'm wondering if it isn't linked to a recent update of Thunderbird I installed. Anyone have any thoughs?

I am trying to install Tbird on a new PC and about 1/3 way through the install I get an error: "installer corrupted: INVALID OPCODE" Any suggestions?

When I download a file, I see the file downloading, but then it disappears after I download the file. The file disappears. Any idea how to fix it?

So my problem is that when I go to "C:/Documents and Settings/username/AppData/Thunderbird/Profiles/profilename/Mail" I have two folders: one called "Local Folders", the other is called "mail.vnet.hu" (my e-mail provider).

Both folders have files such as Drafts, Inbox, Sent, etc. in them. First question is why do I have two folders? I only use one e-mail address with Thunderbird.

But my bigger problem is this: in the "Local Folders" folder the Inbox file is 610 MB big, when I just deleted almost all mails, I only have like 50 mails. But it was 610 MB before deleting, and it still is. Yes, I empited the Trash, by the way. It says that the Inbox file in "Local Folders" was last modified just a couple of minutes ago (when I deleted the mails), but its size is still huge. Why? It's clear that I do not have more than about 50 MB of e-mails in all my folders, but my Inbox solely is over 600 MB, this is weird and annoying. The files for other folders seem to have the right size.

The second part of the problem: the other folder (mail.vnet.hu) has nothing but an Inbox file, an msgfilterrules.dat, a popstate.dat and a Trash file. And the Inbox file is 523 MB big. What the hell is this file? It was last modified on April 9, 2009. But I have definitely received mails since then, so what is this, and once again why is this so big? How can I actually make these folders smaller, cause it's really annoying that they're taking up a lot of space when I've actually got only a few mails. It's hard to back up mails this way, too.

We have an IMAP email server set up. I am running Thunderbird on both my desktop and my laptop. I also have email via an iPhone, but I don't think that will be relevent here. My desktop has several local folders set up for categorizing email. My laptop Thunderbird does not have those local folders. I can move mail into folders and delete mail I do not care to keep on my desktop, but my laptop does not update to match the desktop. I've tried rebuilding the index for the inbox, I've double checked all of my account settings to make sure they match exactly. I cannot figure out how to get the laptop Thunderbird to report what is actually on the IMAP server. Any ideas?

I have just upgraded to Firefox 3.5 and I have noticed that Twitter avatars and most other images on the web seem a lot darker. Is there a integer I can change inside of about:config or am I screwed until the next update? (That might not even fix it.)

The one on the left is what it originally looked like. The one on the right it what it looks like in 3.5. Other profile images around the entire web seem to look darker as well.

Hi, How do I put my wifes email back into her GMail account, and into the correct folders, after using the default thunderbird settings and it downloading them all - even though "Leave mail on the server" is checked??

I used to use outlook. Now I use Thunderbird.

When I open thunderbird, it immediately downloads all my msg from my server. Great. But later on, I might wish to delete numerous msgs and may then unintentionally delete new msgs I have not seen.

So, can I configure thunderbird to download msgs only on my request?
