Ubiquity email command transfers highlighted text/pictures as HTML, but Gmail presents it as text (as opposed to translating the HTML into something representing what was highlighted). Any ideas?
The OK-button in the download dialog of Firefox is 2.0.14 grayed out quite often. Often it is enabled after a little while, but sometimes it is not and the wait is always annoying (OK, maybe Firefox is waiting for some network action, but why not let me click OK at once and remember my decision?). My friend has the same problem.
Just like when you use the address bar to input tags for bookmarks and select down to the bookmark you want using tab, it would be useful to be able to do this with Ubiquity too.
For example:
Take the example on the help tutorial, you want to find the weather in Chicago. If you highlight Chicago and hit Ctrl-Space it brings up the Ubiquity bar. Then if you hit w it shows you:
Wikipedia Chicago
weather Chicago
and you have to use the down arrow key (or the mouse) to get to weather Chicago rather than Wikipedia Chicago. If you could just hit tab, and have it move down to weather Chicago, then you could hit enter and off you'd go, rather than having to move your hand away from the main part of the keyboard to use the down arrow key.
The tab method is the way it works for pulling up bookmarks in the address bar, and I think it would be more familiar, and more efficient, to use the same method for Ubiquity.
It would be cool if typing your hotkey when ubiquity is open maked it disappear.
I use a app called quicksilver and thats how it works so i'm kind of used to it and it's also pretty intuitive.
It's a very good extension, but the last-email command i think it's posible to improve it, it's better that the command shows all new mail, not only the last one
I have setup my domain to work with Google Apps specifically email and calendar which seems to have problems with Ubiquity. When issuing "email this to friend" I run into the error where "to friend" is appended to the message and no contact is in the to field. When issuing "check thursday" I am prompted to login to Google calendar rather then using my existing domain calendar.
I am running Vista Business
FireFox 3.0.1 (Gecko/2008070208)
Ubiquity 0.1
also I use HTTPS when accessing my Google Apps for my domain, but it seems to have the same issues in HTTP
This add-on rocks and brings Gnome-Do like functionality to FF and Vista, thanks!
Doesn't play well with google apps. It's taking the contacts from my regular gmail account and using my google apps account to send emails. Can't access google app contacts at all.
Wouldn't it be great to have a command to convert different currencies, or even converting all prices on the page?
That is something i would really like to see in this amazing addon, something like "convert all/this from GBP to DKK" (danish currency) would be great!
I'm a user located in Germany. When I looked for the weather in my city
1. temperature is only in Fahrenheit, not in Celsius,
2. only current weather report possible, but weather forecast of the whole day of the next three days can be much more useful.
Hopefully these ideas can be taken into the future version.
Java on Firefox 3 RC1 for Mac OS X doesn't seem to work? Internet Banking Apps don't seem to load. Testing the JVM on java.com also reports that it is not working.
the command opens gmail (I'm signed in) and it'll add whatever I select to the body, but it won't insert a contact - it doesn't recognize "to" from my contact list.
I selected a picture, then issued "email to michelle". An error popped up stating "an exception occurred while running the command "email to michelle". TypeError: gmonkey is undefined.
This is a stab in the dark, but does this mean that ubiquity depends on greasemonkey? If so, it would have been nice to know that before.
I am running xp pro, without greasemonkey (if that even matters)
I use the desktop keystroke launcher Launchy, and one aspect of its interface that I would like to see incorporated into Ubiquity is the way it matches input against commands. When i type a command into Launchy, it matches that input against all commands that contain those characters in that order, regardless of where in the command name the characters are. For example, when I want to launch Firefox I can type "fx". Similarly, if I want to search Wikipedia I enter "wp". I find that this often makes it easier to select the correct command with the fewest kestrokes.
Thanks for making such a great tool. I love it already!
