3.0.5 has become unusable/slow and freezes up all the time

In the last few days my 3.0.5 has started to really slow down and is pretty much unusable now. It continually freezes up. I have tried disabling my add ons-which were only ad block plus and English dictionary. I have cleared my cache and still the problem is not fixed. Please help as I am not an IE fan.
