Inappropriate?Actually there is a google command, it can be extended to also display the results of Google's Calculator tool, which is always the 1st result on the page..

Actually, it can't. Not easily at least. Google calculator/unit converter/weather/etc aren't exposed by Google's API. -
Inappropriate?I'm talking about results right in the addon like when you type weather <city></city>
-
Inappropriate?Right.. right.. I was just saying that the google command can be extended to show these results in the ubiquity pane..

Inappropriate?Sounds like a good idea, I there's something in the tut. on dev. about the preview function, should work with this one!
-
Inappropriate?Let us know when you've got something working. We'd love to include it in the Ubiquity built-ins!
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Would it be possible to use the Suggest API? Isn't that how firefox includes the converter results in the built in search?
I’m happy

Inappropriate? Why not just have the Google Calculator handle all Ubiquity calculations? Their calculator can indeed do these unit conversions (and some ridiculous ones, like square furlongs to hectares), and it's ridiculously powerful with other math functions for what is essentially an easter egg, plus it already understands human-like queries quite well. It should be relatively simple to implement-- though I can't say I understand JS or the Google API, it seems to me that it's basically as easy as submitting a query like the regular Google Function but "calc" would indicate for Ubiquity to grab only the bit that shows up before the results.
I’m really hoping to see this implemented.

Inappropriate?Ok guys I got it working. It doubles as the Google calculator as well. I'm not really sure what I should name it so I just went with what I wanted to begin with:

I’m excited

Inappropriate?I wrote one of these myself a while ago: http://ubiquitously.org/forum/viewtop...

Inappropriate?@Jared: This is a nice temporary solution, but as Ubiquity grows, I'm sure the team could incorporate this into the google command so just issuing '1 mi in feet' would bring a result, rather than having to issue 'unit' too.
Thanks.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I agree it would be really nice not needing the keyword.
