Fast deletion of multiple messages in IMAP in Thunderbird 2.0 can delete the wrong messages

I use Gmail via Thunderbird 2.0 IMAP, which is great except one annoying thing: When I do this quite fast: 1) delete one message, 2) click another message and 3) hit delete again, Thunderbird will sometimes delete a different message than the one I clicked on in step 2. I think the selected Email message changes after the IMAP server acknowledges the first deletion.
