firefox 3.8 crashes or redirects with google
firefox 3.8 often crashes or redirects to a different site. I'm running with XP and have used firefox for years and have never had a shutdown before 3 days ago. I diabled extensions, but not plugins... yet. I use symantec antivirus, spybot, adaware, malwarebytes, cleaning hasn't helped. Any ideas?

Inappropriate?Instead of just cleaning, try disabling the security programs and see what happens, there could be a conflict (especially with so many running).

Inappropriate?Thankyou for your help. I'm only running symantec, and I disabled all plugins and extensions. It still has crashed and when I click google results, am sometimes redirected to "toseeka", "myeasysearchonline", "nationwide", "shopbrite".

Yeah, you've got some spyware. Are you sure your adaware is up to date? -
Inappropriate?I just upgraded from adaware2008 to the au edition.... it did find a bunch of malware and sped everything up once cleaned. I still had a crash, but I had about 10 pages opening as quickly as I could to get the shutdown, and no redirects yet. I'll check it out further when I get home from work. Any more ideas are welcome.
