Firefox crashed, again.
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Hi, my name is Myles and I give volunteer support at Live Chat, http://support.mozilla.com/chat
Most Firefox crashes are caused by add-ons, but I can see that you have already disabled all. The next big killer is plugins. I am not sure which plugin meebo.com uses. I would guess Flash or Java. You can try disabling them, Flash and Java, and seeing if it crashes.
If it does crash be sure to submit the report. If it already crashes, and for if it does, open Firefox and in the location bar put "about:crashes" (without quotes). Them copy and paste the latest crash id report here.
I’m sure this problem with be solved soon.

Inappropriate?Hi again,
I just received a tip that Meebo doesn't use Flash or Java. So no need to disable the plugins. Be sure to do that last part (give me the crash id).
You can troubleshoot your problem with some solutions from this article, http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox.... Be sure to have it display your Operating System.
I’m shocked that Meebo uses neither Flash or Java.

Inappropriate?Hi myles7891, thanks for the help. As far as I know meebo is just plain AJAX, so that's probably a javascript issue with Mozilla.
Regarding the crash id, here's the crash report for the last crash with meebo: http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report...
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Ok... I don't see a bug report yet for this particular crash. so i'm going to open one. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug...
If you have a couple more reports of crashes on this site, they would be useful, as would hearing from anyone else that has the same issue. Even though it's a random crash, if it's at least somewhat common, it's likely that we'll get enough detail to have a developer take a look.
I’m concerned
-
I have more bug reports, so far only two additional ones seem to have been processed, however I do not remember if they are meebo related or not.
I do remember some of the crashes have happened while opening a new tab that was loading gmail but I'm unable to confirm if these two are related to that crash or not.
I will add the links in a new comment since apparently the reply does not use any kind of formatting. -
Inappropriate?Hi again, Reita.
Since this is now a bug report. Can you walk us through the steps took before it crashed on Meebo. We need exact details. Of course, leave out the privacy stuff. Just how many people you were iming? Were you watching something? Were the people you were talking to bots or humans? any other tabs open? doing anything else while doing that? Include all software that was running besides Firefox at crash time.
Also, has it crashed on other sites besides meebo?
I’m singing along to pork and beans, while falling in love with meebo.
-
I will try to recreate the crash then. As far as I know I was messaging two people, and meebo was the only site loaded, no other tabs. Running programs: Humanized Enso, Symantec Corporate, Dell quickset, not counting the usual stuff such as iPod Service, Bluetooth tray software and usual windows services. -
Inappropriate? Two more crash reports, I'm unable to confirm if they are meebo related or not.

Inappropriate?I just managed to crash Firefox again.
I had two instances of the browser running, the first one with this same getsatisfaction thread open and all the crash reports that still say "please wait... we are processing your report".
The second one had meebo open, after messing with almost every setting in meebo and not being able to crash it I decided to open a new tab, and load gmail in the background. After switching around between the two tabs many times, the crash happened.
And this is the new report ID:
d4df2dfa-4b8a-11dd-a5ed-001cc45a2ce4
Still being processed. -
I'm trying to recreate this same crash, but so far I haven't been able to. -
Thanks. At least one of them could be related - it's in close to the same place in the code. We certainly appreciate your help to narrow this down, I'll update the bug. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for all the info. You are doing great, hopefully this will be solved soon. I would just like to mention, bug reports are not only for devlopers or top people, anyone can comment them. I recommend that you cc (carbon copy) yourself, so that you get the latest updates. Just put your name in the white box on the right and hit enter on your keyboard. Also if you have anything to add, you can tell us here and we will add it or just add it yourselves.
Stephanie is doing a great job updating the bug (thanks so much!), so everything should be up-to-date.
Thanks so much!
I’m happy that we have great Firefox users and support agents.

Inappropriate?another question:
Were you signed into gmail chat as well as meebo?
Like when I signed into gmail, it logged me into AIM, which it sent me a message on Meebo saying I was logged in at two locations. The tab flashed and stuff and my computer slowed. So were you signed into AIM/Yahoo/MSN/etc. in two places?
-
That's correct. I was signed into both at the same time. Oddly enough Gmail seems to have issues and is "Unable to connect to AIM" at the moment... so maybe that's related to not being able to crash Firefox again. -
Inappropriate?A new crash, however this time meebo interaction didn't seem to cause it.
I had meebo open and reddit.com, I middle clicked on the first link at reddit to open it in a new tab when the crash occurred.
New Id: 9b25a3a3-4bbd-11dd-9ce3-001cc45a2ce4
Meebo crash/changing tabs crash today, still processing: http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report...
Meebo/reddit opening new tab middle click crash, still processing: http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report...
Every plug-in and extension are still disabled.
I’m crash friendly
-
The best way to guarantee that all the plugins/extensions are disabled is to run Firefox in safe mode: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode -
@Thomas I am testing Mozilla in safe-mode as I write this, I will report any crashes if I get them. -
Inappropriate?New crash, again meebo didn't seem to cause it but opening a new tab in the background.
This time I was loading the bugzilla bug report linked in this very same thread. Same behaviour, middle click to open in a new tab.
New crash report:
http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report...
I still can't find a way to recreate the crashes, all of them seem random but maybe you guys can find a pattern or something.
I’m crashy
-
I have been testing Firefox without meebo being active and so far I have been unable to crash it. -
Inappropriate?Hi,
I have been facing this problem for quite sometime now.Whenever i start Linkedin.com, firefox crashes down. Sam ething start happening with Yahoo as well now. It happens with some wiki links as well.
I have disabled all the plug-ins and ad-ons but no help. I have even reinstalled the firefox couple of times.
Please help as it is turing me off from Firefox big time.
Regards
Ankur -
Do you have any Firewalls or security programs? -
Inappropriate?yes...it crashes even if meebo is not open.
