Firefox ignores Mac OS X remapped keybindings for control keys
Firefox expects that the control keys (those that don't normally produce letters, digits or symbols) will behave the same way on all keyboard layouts, and so they respond to the key code rather than the output the keyboard layout produces. For example the enter key will always be treated as an enter key.
The OS X supports remapping your keyboard to custom layouts, it would be great if Firefox (and other Mozilla products such as Thunderbird) respected these key bindings for control keys as well.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the tip. It does not suit my needs as I was being general when I said control keys - any non alphanumeric keys. This add on appears to do something very specific 'Patches the key bindings for Mac OS X users of Firefox and Thunderbird to match the key bindings of Windows'
