Inappropriate?Sounds like your Firefox profile is probably corrupted--try a new one and let us know if the problem persists:

I have cleaned every sign of Firefox Including directories and registry) twice to no avail. when I reload firefox with a new download it still will not accept the Foxmarks download. -
Inappropriate?using ubuntu
sloved my problem by deleting the firefox folder in home
command: "rm -fr $HOME/.mozilla/firefox"
then restart firefox
be aware that this will delete all add-ons, history, bookmarks etc
luckily you have a foxmarks backup :) -
Inappropriate?would this require me to change operating systems to use ubuntu?

Inappropriate?Lee, using Ubuntu isn't likely to fix the problem for you. When you cleared things out, did you clear out your Firefox profile directory as well? Are you running Windows, by any chance? Sometimes Windows users find success downloading the .xpi file and then dragging it to their add-ons window as described here:

Inappropriate?I have tried every thing on the list to no avail. I have even upgraded to 3.03 - no help, same lack of results. what do I do now?

Inappropriate?I guess Eric has given up on me.I have had no further replies for 10 days now.
I'm not impressed by their customer service.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Sorry, Lee, I was looking for more possible solutions, but had no luck. You've probably got software running on your computer that's preventing installation of Firefox extensions, or at least preventing Foxmarks from installing correctly. If that's the case, switching to Ubuntu would probably fix things, but for all the wrong reasons.
I'll move this over to the Mozilla forums--they might have better ideas as to what the underlying cause could be. Be sure to provide the information I requested above, including your operating system and any other details that might be pertinent. -
I have updated to Foxmarks 2.6.0 and my foxmarks has disapeared and will not reload. AGAIN!
