How can I get google links to open in a new tab BEHIND my current window?
I don't know if this is a Firefox question or an add on question - When I click on a link from google with the left click button, the link opens in a new tab, just like I want it to BUT it brings the new tab to the front. I want the tab to open behind the google tab while I keep looking. I can, of course, click on the google tab again, but it seems to me there should be a way to have the new tab open behind the google page by default. (That is what I have my Firefox preferences set to.) Does anyone know how I can do this?

Inappropriate? You can try to click on links with your middle button (scroll wheel). This should work the way you need. However, However, you need to install Tab Mix Plus addon for Firefox in order to have that functionality. Once you have this addon installed, go to its properties, then Events, then select "Tab Focus" tab. There, you should select Links in "Focus/Select tabs that open from" section and Links in "Inverse middle click focus of" section. This gives you the freedom to click with your left mouse button and focus on a new opened tab right away or click with middle (wheel) button on a link and have a new tab opened in the background.
However, if you just want to have all new tabs to be opened unfocused, then just clear the mark next to Links in the "Focus/Select....." section.
I hope it's not too complicated.

What do you mean when you say "all new tabs to be opened unfocused"? -
It means all new tabs will be opened in the background. When you click on a link, the new tab will be opened by you will stay on the previous tab. -
Inappropriate? It works, it works, it works! They all open up behind the current tab now! Thank you!
I’m ecstatic
