How do I get links from external applications to open in new tabs?

Inappropriate?Type about:config into your address bar, then type open_external into the search, and set browser.link.open_external to 3.

Inappropriate? Thanks for your assistance. Based on your suggestion I tried this but the value for browser.link.open_external is already set to 3. I think it's probably a setting in the other application (TweetDeck), not a problem with Firefox. Thanks anyway.

Inappropriate?Actually, I think that it's something with Adobe Air, yes. Are you running on Vista? If so, tell Mike Chambers. There's a fix for this issue (which specifically mentions TweetDeck) too.

Inappropriate? Thanks Thomas. I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.4 but your links to information helped. I updated to Adobe Air 1.5 and the links from TweetDeck now open in Firefox tabs rather than new windows which is my preference.
Thanks again!
