I'd rather "send" something than "email" it.
Sending seems more logical than emailing. They could be parallel? Maybe it is just me not being a native speaker.

Inappropriate?The thing is, you might be using Mento, and you might want to 'send' with mento too. You might also want to 'send' with Facebook's "posted items" system. There's many ways to send things. Only one e-mail. Instead of saying "send this to blah blah via e-mail", you can say "e-mail this to blah", much quicker.

Actually, I wouldn't care how it got sent.
If I understand correctly then this is the point of ubiquity.
Other thing: having only one e-mail is a rare thing too. -
