Improvements to Add-on Update Information Panel needed
I was just informed (via a Firefox slide-up notification) that an update is available for one of my plugins... so I clicked it and it took me to the Add-ons-->Updates tab, I clicked "Show Information" to view what had changed, and have the following feedback:
1) Links to a detailed changelog and FAQ were provided by the author, but these links were not clickable - I suggest that Firefox should parse these URLs in the information text and make them clickable.
2) Furthermore, even though the cursor changed to a text selection cursor when I moved into the panel, I was not able to click/drag/select/copy text as one would expect - this means that I can't copy the URLs (or any other information I might want to to do something with). Again, Firefox is responsible for this behaviour and it should be altered to permit copying of selected text.
3) Regardless of whatever information is (voluntarily) provided by the add-on author for display in the information panel, I would like to see a hyperlink underneath each update (i.e. in the left-hand panel) which I can click to visit the add-on's home page (e.g. to check the official release information, see for comments from people who have already installed the update and might have encountered problems, etc). Surely this information is already provided (mandatorily) by all add-ons and can easily be displayed?
I believe that the implementation of any (preferably all) of the above suggestions would significantly improve the user experience for updating add-ons in Firefox.
