Thunderbird's RSS handling is appalling
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Have you tried out Thunderbird 3 yet? And how exactly do you think it's bad and could be improved?
-
Inappropriate?hey, cool of you to pick this up from twitter :)
i'll have to try thunderbird 3. i'll try it now.
i was just getting frustrated because i imported all my google reader feeds and it seemed to import them all in separate folders and then i couldn't delete them by pushing the delete button and was having to delete them individually by right-click+delete, plus there wasn't a way to view all new items on a scrolling page like google reader. maybe i just need to get used to it. i was just frustrated. i don't think i'll be using it anyway for rss.
i like it as an email client.
thanks

I’m amused

Inappropriate?I use google reader myself, and I think that (like with gmail) it's hard to replicate it.

Inappropriate?I'm having a real problem with thunder bird(2 and 3) and rss. But it seems to only be a problem on one of my feeds. It constantly pulls duplicates from the feed. sometimes 3-4 of each news article
http://henrik.nyh.se/scrapers/cyanide... is the feed
I didn't notice it until i upgraded to 3 alpha (may or may not be linked, i wasn't really paying attention) so i downgraded back to the current stable release to find out i'm still having the same problem I have 5 other feeds that this is not happening to. Is it the feed? -
It's probably the feed, the reddit RSS feed constantly gives me duplicates in Google Reader. It's because something changed, maybe he's not using persistent IDs for the items in the feed. I can suggest the image free http://feeds.feedburner.com/Explosm, but you probably want the images. I'm not familiar enough with Yahoo! Pipes to help write a pipe that turns it into an image-feed, sorry :(
