Why cant I download Firefox 3?
It seems like 45 minutes after the launch, I should be able to at least reach a page on mozilla.org that lets me download Firefox 3. So far, I've mostly seen "unavailable" and other various HTTP errors. Getfirefox.com redirects to a page for downloading Firefox 2.0.0.14, and spreadfirefox.com won't even load.

Apparently they don't count now, despite #sumo (support.mozilla.com's irc room) saying they do. See: http://blog.mozilla.com/blog/2008/06/... -
Inappropriate?did i misunderstand when i thought we had to get it from the spreadfirefox site for it to count toward the record?

These are the links you'd see if you went to the spreadfirefox site. I mean, mouse over the link on getfirefox.com and notice that the url uses the same formatting. These count.

Inappropriate?Update: While nobody on IRC knows who the official twitter person is, he links to an official blog post claiming that the download day has been 'paused'. Thus, downloads don't count, supposedly.

Inappropriate?Yeah, that's weird. So far mozilla.org isn't up to date, thought I got the Download Day page to load, it still points to a Mozilla.org page for getting Firefox 2. Your direct link worked great, but I might download again later, just to get counted.

Inappropriate?well, you were talking about the spreadfirefox page, so I thought you meant http://spreadfirefox.com (on which I currently see the "Firefox downloads: 579137807"-counter)
instead of http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/wo... which currently shows 1,428,874 downloads.
A bit unfortunate that reset; Belgium had a nice 33k downloads (while it only had like 15k pledges) and now it is only 13k downloads..

people were already downloading by using those direct links that Thomas posted in the first reply, but it seems like they decided that it would be better to reset and to start the download day 1h30 later..
.. or something like that.
