why is firefox not working for me?
I can't seem to open firefox and not very happy. IE is working fine for me however, my username and passwords were saved through firefox. Can you help?

Inappropriate?How does it not open? Like, you double click and nothing happens? If so, try renaming the executable file. Open My Computer, go to C:, Program Files, Mozilla Firefox, and rename Firefox.exe to something like Firefox3.exe (if you don't see the .exe, don't worry, just rename Firefox to Firefox3). If it works, then you have a virus, and you should go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com in IE and do a scan.

Inappropriate?yea, i installed the latest version of firefox on my new xp and it just wont open. double click and nothing. tried the renaming thing and it didn't work either

Inappropriate?am having the same problem now...am going to uninstall mozilla and try safari...i have tried everything even renaming it, everything i do was on mozila...i have alot of passwords in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inappropriate?I can see FF in the task manager running 50% cpu with a memory allocation thqt just get's stuck wherever it is. Ive've seen it a 5800 and 32000. Wherever memory is when I first look at task mgr, it just stays there.
This is new after latest WInXP security update from MS (11/18/09)

Inappropriate?I started FF in safe mode (start/run: Firefox -safe-mode) and checked tools/add-ons. Skype add-on was marked with a red x. Disabled it and all's well.
