Wire Firefox with other projects like Thunderbird, Sunbird through plugins
Like i have read in te past that Mozilla wants to keep every project for itself and is not planning to merge them. How would be the possibilty to get a plugin of lets say thunderbird or sunbird for firefox so that you could use the function of Thunderbird or Sunbird inside your firefox as an open tab. You would install Thunderbird or Sunbird normally on your desktop, but you would wire them with Firefox through a plugin. So that you could send an email without having to leave your browser, you could manage your dates through your browser, and also reminders would appear on your browser. So every project would stay for hisself, but all together would be wired, and would give a very powerfull tool. You can still use Thunderbird and Sunbird normal, its just the possibility to launch them through Firefox. Ok, that would be my Idea:)

Inappropriate?I don't like this idea, what's the point of windowS if you only want to use one

Inappropriate?Perhaps my idea has been misunderstood, i had the idea, that you would install Programs like Thunderbird, or Sunbird normally under Windows, or also Mac, or Linux, but you can open them in Firefox through a plugin, so that you can check your dates through Firefox, without having to open Sunbird, so that you can check your mails in Thunderbird without having to open Thunderbird, these applications would just be opened as a new tab in your browser. I would find that usefull, because the browser is an application you use very often, why not link other applications to the browser, and me personally i hate having multiple programms open, you have to close one, minimize one, maximixe the other, its not very practical, there with one click you could check everything through your browser.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?I don't like this, but you don't have to make me like it.
I just want my browser to be a browser, I want it to do what it is made for: browsing.
And it has to be the best at browsing, but making it possible to run other programs in a tab would require resources I don't want to spend.
(I use a dock to open other programs without leaving the window I'm in.)
btw: there is already a plugin for browsing web pages in Thunderbird.
(but it's nothing like surfing in Firefox) -
Inappropriate?yes, i don't think i can persuade you if you don't want to;D
I understand what you mean, for you the browser is for browsing, and you want maximum of speed, and minimal system requirements.
This would be the task of my idea to make it possible, without needing much more ressources. I just thought about features like Opera has, Opera has an integrated mail client, and opera has an integrated chat client, i think that an option in Firefox to integrate this would be very interesting, it would bundle communication, e-mail, internet, chat, are all communication tools why not bundle them in one way, so that you don't have to have three different programs for the same way of communication. I know these remembers on google wave, but i am not mentioning a google wave clone, but a way to make from your browser your principle communication tool.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?i found these addons, one its called get Mail:
http://www.erweiterungen.de/detail/Ge...
and the other simple mail
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...
i will test them:)
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?and there is a chat client for firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...
that was what i meant, these functions, so that your browser is not only "one dimensional" but multitasking
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I don't know, but have you ever heard of the mozilla suite?
I never used it but if I'm right, it had an e-mail client, chat client,...
But they stopped developing that program. Now there's Seamonkey which is designed to do provide the same functionality (I think).
BTW: if you're sticking to Firefox because of some add-ons you like, they're probably compatible with Seamonkey. -
Inappropriate?Thank you really much for that proposal, i've tested it, but i feeled its not the same to browsing in firefox, it looks a bit oldfashioned, and doesn't have the same functionalities:
after searching the web i found following addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox...
this was what i mentioned, if you get a mail, its mention in your bottom bar, you click on it, and it opens thunderbird so that you can read the mail, i know you could also just open your thunderbird by hand, but i find that more practical:)
I’m happy
