"Thunderbird crashes on file save in windows 7"
Running Win7-64bit and Thunderbird 2.0.0.23. Any attempt at saving a message or attachment as a file causes the program to fold. The "Save attachment" file browser opens but Windows pops a box saying "Moz..Tbird has stopped working" without me having to click any buttons.
Curiously enough, I can directly open attachments by double clicking on them and then I can save them from the chosen application. Seems like the problem is with the file browser.
I've tried various compatibility settings without any success: Admin/NoAdmin, XP 2,3 compat.
Help please

Inappropriate?Do you have any extensions installed? Have you tried running TB in safe-mode?

Inappropriate?Hi David,
Started it in safe mode, went to a message with an attachment. Did a right-click on the attachment (excel spreadsheet) and did a Save as...
This time, I had to actually click OK but often it will fold before I do anything in the file selection box. Anyway, it still folded.
Your comment got me thinking however. I'm running Nvidia's nview desktop manager. It can do some funny stuff with repositioning dialog boxes (I have multiple displays). I disabled it for Tbird and HURRAY, I can save files right and left....
Thanks for the hint and will move this discussion to an Nvidia forum.
I’m thankful
