Can't get to Thunderbird Profile Manager

I cannot get to the Profile Manager for Thunderbird, which I just installed on my Mac OS X (10.4.11). I followed the instructions via launching Terminal, but neither sequence specified for Thunderbird (/Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird -profile manager or adding -bin after /thunderbird) works. I was able to get to the Profile Manager for Firefix without any problems. Any suggestions? I need to be able to have three different profiles for e-mail.
