HELP ME GET BACK TO " BLACK"
(1)_ How do I change the color of my emails from blue back to black?
(2) I have been designating junk mail for a month and the system still does not automatically put junk mail in junk column, leaving them in "in" box.

Inappropriate? The pale blue for new messages is almost too light to read on a white background. Perhaps the Thunderbird developers used a monitor with a different contrast/brightness setting, but for me, and I suspect many others, the combination of light blue on white by default is very annoying to look at, and makes it hard to realize I have new messages!
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Try a different theme to change the highlight color of selected/focused, and selected/unfocused messages.
Try one of these, for example: http://www.silvermel.net/ -
Inappropriate?A whole theme is really overkill just for this 1 color issue. I'm sure many other people will find the pale blue hard to read, so the solution should be to use a darker blue in future TB releases.

Inappropriate?I agree, it is overkill, but don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger. :-) I brought up your issue in this MozillaZine thread:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtop...
back in early November. -
Inappropriate? The issue for me is not the background color of selected unfocused items, it is the text color of the folders with new messages (new being different from simply unread).
Selected, focused items are white text on a dark blue background. Unfocused makes it black text on a pale grey background.
The folder structure on the left is black text on a white background. Folders with unread messages turn to bold text. Folders with new messages turn to pale blue+bold text on a white background still.
It is this bold but pale blue text on a white background that is nearly unreadable for me. -
Inappropriate?I see, I misunderstood.
Here is what my light-blue looks like on Win 7. It is quite readable. Compare it to yours. Perhaps your monitor is overly bright.

This item is controlled by the Selected Items desktop appearance item in Display->Properties. You can change the color there to a darker (or different color). -
Inappropriate?Mine is the default (Windows XP Luna Blue) which is #316AC5, while yours looks like #3399FF which is actually even lighter.
It's not completely unreadable (yours or mine) but it is just awkwardly light enough when that system color is used for text with a white background, that it is significantly harder to notice than simply bold and black.
Both look fine when used as the background color with white text though, even though it is the same two colors, just reversed.
I've not noticed that one of my 26 folders had a new message in it until I closed and reopened Thunderbird later on, and the folder was bold black (unread) instead of blue (new messages). -
Inappropriate?I agree, I would like a darker color, like red, rather than the blue. I hope someone posts an answer soon.
