i can't send files using right click 'send to' shortcut option all of a sudden
i have same problem as brenna earlier, with the exception that i already checked my settings under internet options, and mozilla thunderbird is my default email client already. for me, this started occurring this morning, as soon as thunderbird had installed an automatic update. it asked me to restart thunderbird, which i did, but now i can't send files as attachments by right clicking on them and using the 'send to' shortcut menu.
i'm on version 2.0.0.22 now.
thanks in advance for any and all help.
i also think my wife is having the same problem at house, because she told me two days ago that she can't send emails anymore. i'm beginning to think she probably already updated her thunderbird, and is encountering the same thing i am.

Inappropriate?my problem is fixed thanks to response from brenna in previous thread about adobe acrobat..
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? What was the fix? Windows 2000 user.

Inappropriate?I found this fix on another similar question and it worked for me:
"This happened to several users in my network. I went to Control panel -> Internet options -> Programs and set anything else but Thunderbird as default client (e.g. Outlook Express). Then ran Thunderbird and agreed to "Set Thunderbird as default?" question. After this procedure my users were able to mail both from context menu and Microsoft Office applications."

Inappropriate?Did it...no icon appears to click.
-
Inappropriate?goto Thunderbird->Tools->Options->General->Click "Check Now" where it asks to "Always check to see if Thunderbird is the default mail client on startup"
Make sure you have set the mail client to Outlook Express as described in the previous post before you have Thunderbird reset the mail client with the "Check Now". -
Inappropriate?Did that...send to email icon still missing from right click menu.
-
Inappropriate?Even from Send To under the File menu in, for instance, MSWord, doesn't work. Still looking for former email program. . .
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? My SEND TO - EMAIL RECIPIENT is still in my right click menu, but now it will only open Outlook Express, and not Thunderbird like it did before I applied the update. I have gone into the DEFAULT PROGRAMS in the control pannel, and made sure that Thunderbird is still the default. I even switched back to Outlook as the default and then back again to Thunderbird like some other posts suggest to do, but the problem still exists. They say the problem lies with the newest version of Thunderbird. NOT the operating system. I am using Vista Home Premium with all the latest updates.
I hope Thunderbird programmers are paying attention to this problem, as it seems to be a BIG one that a lot of users are upset with.

Inappropriate? This is a known bug introduced with version 0.22. The solution is given in bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499958.
The registry is not setup properly - we provide two files there to fix it. One for normal windows installations the other for 64 bits versions. Please read the bug for more information.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?kindly check you have set thunderbird as a default mail client in internet options with administrative rights. Change the same with admin account also.
