Unopened emails have disappeared!
My computer shut down without closing properly and many unopened emails have disappeared. Is there a place to go to retrieve them?

Inappropriate?Are they all missing, or just some?
It's possible that you just need to rebuild the index for the inbox.
1. Right click on the folder with the missing email
2. Choose properties from the menu
3. Click the Rebuild Index button
If they don't come back after you rebuild the index, sometimes after a crash Thunderbird will mark some mails as deleted by mistake. This doesn't actually mean they're deleted, it means Thunderbird isn't showing them.
Follow the instructions at the end of the Misc section here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disappearin.... to see if the messages are still in the inbox but with the wrong status.
