Shirley -- I'm sorry you lost email. I know I hate it when I lose work.
I'm surprised that the update process caused the email to get lost -- it's supposed to ask you whether you're ok with restarting, and if you have an email being composed, it should have asked you whether you wanted to save that draft as part of the restarting process. It might be worth checking out the Drafts folder, which is where I'd expect it to have been saved.
I'm very sorry that you lost time. We try hard to make Thunderbird _save_ you time, so it's indeed unfortunate that the update (which is necessary to keep you as safe as possible from viruses and the like) resulted in that loss.
To avoid this in the future, it'd be good to check and make sure that the Auto Save option is checked in the Preferences dialog, as that should cause Drafts to be maintained so that the maximal amount of time that would be loss in the case of a crash is 5 minutes worth of work.

Inappropriate?uh you probably just had it in a window which appeared behind the main thunderbird window for a moment, it was still there but hiding in the background most likely.
I’m sad

I looked everywhere. The message was gone. Something the update did kicked it out. It was no where to be found. Perhaps I need to find a better server. -
Since Thunderbird is not a server, I don't know how that would affect things. Gmail and Yahoo! are e-mail servers. -
Inappropriate? You are soooooooooooooooooo right that Thunderbird is not a server! Because serving requires helping others rather than thinking up all the rude comments you can muster. You can't even handle answering a simple customer comment without rudeness. I would never treat those that keep me in business that way. Might want to work on your people skills there are a lot of techs out of work. Probably more rude ones in that group. Study up on how to promote your business more effectively. You seem to be quite lacking in knowledge of that area. You don't need to answer because I will not be with you and I will update all of those I referred to you on how you treat your customers.
I’m gone goodbye

I don't see how explaining what a server was was rude. I'm very sorry you decided to take my response so harshly. -

David, I'd like to talk with you on IRC. I'm guessing you're online now. I just sent you an e-mail as well.
