Why won't Thunderbird download remaining messages?
I just set up a new email account with Thunderbird and it downloaded maybe 15 or so emails before giving me this error message: "The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server pop.secureserver.net responded: unable to open that message." How can I correct this?

Inappropriate?Ah, pop.secureserver.net. GoDaddy.
Try it with another client, I'm thinking it probably won't work there either. Maybe you can delete the corrupted file by logging in here: https://email.secureserver.net/login.php
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Tom,
I have the same situation as above (same error, same pop server)
Deleting the problem email(s) as you suggested did not help. Neither did deleting the account on thunderbird and recreating.
Please advise.
I’m confused

I advise you don't use GoDaddy for e-mail. I don't know of any other solution myself. -
Inappropriate?'Deleting the account and creating it again won't work...I tried a dozen times.
When I played around with the settings for the server, however, I found that if I selected 'never' under the use secure connection section and left the use secure authentication unticked it downloaded just fine.
I tried all of the options under the use secure connection section and nothing else worked for me.
Good luck...hope it helps
