Using Mozy on a VM and host?
Could I use Mozy Home on a virtual machine (single-user, local) and on the physical machine? Both technically (does it work like that?) and regarding the license (does it allow it?).
I am interested in backing my VMs up as proper systems, not one big .vhd file.

Inappropriate?With MozyHome you would need two licenses one for the virtual and one for the physical.
MozyPro on the other hand you could purchase one license+storage and map the backup. If this is a personal computer and you have more than a few GB's to backup I would suggest purchasing two Home licenses rather than the one Pro license which would cost effective.

Inappropriate?So with my completely free account I could backup my three computers (two physical computers and a VM), so long as I stayed within my ~4GB allowance (which I'd carefully worked up by referring other users to Mozy). I decided to "upgrade" to MozyHome to increase that allowance... and now I can only back up one machine.
Surely it wouldn't be hard to make sure any "upgrade" doesn't take away an ability I your users used to have? Surely I could retain my free allowance for any other computers, and get MozyHome's unlimited allowance for the computer I'm paying for?
I can sign up another account for my other computers, but my carefully worked up referral bonuses are gone forever as punishment for paying Mozy money.
You guys have a great product overall... but this feature is very frustrating.

As mentioned before MozyHome is only for a specific computer. As you mentioned when you upgrade you "lost" your 4 GB of data. Free is a little different where you can set up a second computer to backup using free quota. A work around is to set up a different account for the two computers that are not being backed up by MozyHome. I think I found an account of yours that hasn't been activated which I would be more than happy to allocate 4GB's (free) to if you are interested.
