No Original Soundtrack from Imported Video Files
I have no original soundtrack from my video clips, even after moving the Soundtrack Slide Bar to Max.
I have Muvee ap 6.1 and just purchased Muvee Reveal and still I have the same problem. My video files are supported formats. Any help would be appreciated.

Inappropriate?Ken_G, can I know what is the format of video you are trying to use?
-
YihYeong, After checking the properties of the file I can confirm it is Movie Clip (.mpg) downloaded straight from my Sony DCR-DVD203E Handycam.. The files play fine in Windows Media Player and in other applications. Do you believe the format is not supported? in which case can you suggest a file conversion program.
Many thanks
Ken -
I have a Sony Handycam too. I wrote to customer support for Muvee and they didn't indicate some sound formats are not supported. You spoke of a conversion file. What is this and how does it work? -
Inappropriate?Ken_G, Thanks for the details. I have asked my colleagues. The video clip taken from the Sony DCR-DVD203E requires AC3 audio decoding which aP6.1 does not support.
However, out latest product - muvee Reveal supports it. I recommend that you try downloading the trial version from our website at: www.muvee.com
I’m confident

YihYeong, Thanks for your help. I have already purchased Muvee Reveal and have had the same issue. I did consider your earlier comments about file types and downloaded a video file converter. I converted the files to MP4 and just like magic my soundtrack appeared. I spent the best part of 2 hours constructing my Muvee with both Video (MP4) and photos, I enjoyed adding captions. I was a little frustrated to find that the video footage and sound are very out of sync, even after checking I had selected the right options for playback. When I tried to make changes Muvee stopped responding and I received a Run Time Error. The only fix was to restore the computer and reinstall Muvee Reveal. I love the concept of this software but can find little explanation as to why sound & picture are out of sync. I have disabled the slow motion in style setting and set the video setting to use all in sequence.
If I could get the sound in sync my muvee would be perfect.
I appreciate your assistance, you are a "steely eyed Muvee Man"
Thanks again

I just tried the Muvee free download and I still can't hear the audio for the files I created on my Sony Handyman. I tried sliding over the bars for video soundtrack to the max and minimizing all the others, and still no success. -
Inappropriate?Ken, full version of muvee Reveal should support AC3 decoding. May I know if you have installed the HD addon after you've made the purchase?
How about trying the below and let me know:
1. Launch Reveal
2. Click on "Add"
3. Do you see "From my AVCDH camcorder" ? -
Inappropriate?Btw, the trial version of muvee Reveal will not support AC3 and that means audio from the Sony Handycam video files will be lost in the saved muvee.
-
Inappropriate?Has anyone found an actual solution...I'm facing the same issue with my Sony Handycam's mpg files and Muvee ap6
-
Inappropriate?hi why muveereveal cant upload my mpeg video files
-
Inappropriate?I ended up cancelling my subscription. The fact that the trial version of Reveal does not support my Sony files didn't give me confidence that spending money on the full version meant it would work. Isn't that the whole point of the trial? It's supposed to be a selling tool. At least the company was great about a quick refund.

slbarkman: Supporting AC3 requires us to pay fees to Dolby. Which means even if its a free trial, fees needs to be paid, hence we are not able to support free trials with AC3 decoding. You should recieve some software together with your Sony cam which will recognize your video files. So if u did not buy Reveal, how did u get a refund? -
Inappropriate?I got a refund for Muvee Producer, or whatever it was called.

So then the new file you created with Movie Maker is what you bring into Muvee? -
Inappropriate?Hello,
Well I am having the same problem now with Muvee Reveal as I just experienced with Autoproducer 6. I get no original soundtrack from my video. I read online that Muvee Reveal would fix the problem that the newer cameras video was no longer supported by Autoproducer 6. So I purchased the upgrade and now find it still does not work.
I have a Sony DCR-SR85 and am pretty frustrated trying to find software that actually edits the video. I love Autoproducer and wish it worked with my new camera.
Thank You!

Inappropriate?Hi guys... I just got an SR85 and have the same problem but using Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas... so I don't think the problem is with the software... i think that the problem is with the format the camera records audio. What I've been doing is using the video track (that looks perfect) and also using Canopus Procoder to generate a wav file that I can use in Premiere or Vegas...
Anyway, that's just a way-around the issue... If you find out something that can be helpfull please let me know!.
Thanks,
Pablo

Inappropriate? On my trial version and on the 15 day trial version, when I imported a avi file with sound to muvee, the sound disappeared. This is bad for me and makes me not to want to buy the product.

Inappropriate?OK!! Muvee person, take note. I read another response here and found out that the video sound control is under the personalize tab. Whoowee. Now it works. But why hide it there? It should be on the main screen or else you are going to lose some potential customers that can't figure out how to get sound from a video tract to play on the speakers. But, I am happy again. My only complaint, and the reason I have not purchased the product, is that the quality sucks under the trail for making a DVD. Muvee wrote me to say that it would better if I made a purchase, but how do I know it will be better? Can't I get a trial to see if I like the quality or not? I made a long DVD with nice pics with Muvee and it played on my new HP CQ 60 laptop just great, but the DVD on my TV was only 1/2 the quality and grainy.

Hi opie, good comment. I will feedback to product team. Btw, if you purchase you will get the HD camcorder Add-on which enables you to import and export videos at HD resolution. that definitely will be better quality than what you will get from the trial. :) -
Inappropriate?I'm using muvee 5 that came with my HP IQ770 with built in camcorder.
I have recorded about 30 videos, all of which playback on slowmotion. How can i speed up the videos i have already recorded? I downloaded the trail version of Muvee 6.1 but that doesn't even detect the built in camera.
My main question is: How do i playback these videos in real time with the sound playing at the same speed..Right now the voice is real time but the video is like 10 frames behind.
And how do i fix this? there is no personalize button on my original muvee 5 so how can i avoid this later?
I’m aggravated.

Hi shay, can you try playing back the video using Windows Media player? we can also help to test your video clip on our side. Please send the a sample video from the HP IQ770 to support AT muvee DOT com
