problem importing AVI video from computer files to muvee reveal
Hello,
I have been a regular Movee user (Movee 5 WIN XP) with no problems importing video clips from local file on my PC. (import, and able to make movee uneventfully)
Now with Movee Reveal, using the very SAME PC AND VERY SAME video clips, the result is weird: Movee shows videos crunched, visible only from half the frame down.
What is happening? How to fix?
No problem when importing photos, just video clips.
Please help, I already contacted tech supp. no reply yet.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Your problem description suggests to me support for your video file's format has somehow been broken in Reveal. Can you describe to me what format yor video file is? Are you using DV files captured from your camera? Have you tried saving a muvee and do you still get the half-frame display your screen-shot shows?
Can you please also give me your machine and graphics card specification? This helps us in two ways - one is, of course, to see if it has any bearing on the problem you're facing .. and the other is to update our internal database so we can factor in support for machines in the same class as yours.
The easiest way to capture this specification is to run
c:\windows\system32\dxdiag.exe
click on "Save all information", select "Save as type: XML file" and send me the result XML file (to kumar at muvee dot com). -
Inappropriate? Thanks for sending me the XML file Karen. Your machine is fine, so we can set that aside.
Are you able to preview your video file within muvee Reveal? You can preview it by clicking on the video thumbnail in muvee Reveal and selecting "Preview" in the drop down menu. -
Yes, 100% able to preview and all normal behavior, no problem with the clip so far. Can even highlight and edit. -
Inappropriate?Update - this problem was due to a third party decoder that was also installed on the system, which was misbehaving. muvee Reveal ended up picking up the third party decoder and hence this problem. Whoever has this problem, please contact us via our support queue for a patch.

Inappropriate?Keke - a belated thank you for your cooperation in helping us track down this problem.
