Inappropriate? We already have the current and the archived shows separation.
We are thinking about allowing the users to create folders but that may cause a great deal of confusion. So, in order to keep things simple, we will probably add some predefined folders like: currently watching; plan to watch; archived.

Inappropriate?I think these predefined shows you proposed are enough, at least for me.

Inappropriate?YES YES YES, I like watching some shows once they have completly aired, or save some for the summer, so this is great, as sometimes i lose control of all the shows. Now I have to move to archive, but would be ideal to only move there the ones i have seen. THIS is a MUST. Also when adding a new show would be great to mark were you want it.

Inappropriate?What about this ones?
Currently watching, Completed, Dropped, Canceled, Plan to watch, On Hold.
Canceled. The network gave it the axe.
On Hold. For those shows that are off-season but still on work.
I wouldn't like to have the completed, dropped and canceled shows in the same category.
PS. Sorry for my poor English.

Inappropriate?@Pau: If they were to do that way, it would be better to just allow users to create their own categories. Personally I feel that many options would be a little overkill.
The problem I see with you suggestion is that you put together categories from both a show status' point of view (completed, dropped, canceled, on hold) and from the viewer's (watching, plan to watch). Since MyTVShows' focus is on the viewer (there are plenty sites out there to know what is the show current situation), I think only statuses that actually affect the user should be included.
That means:
- On Hold and Live is the same from the user's point of views. There are going to be new episodes and we just need to know when.
- Completed, Dropped or Canceled all mean there won't be any new episodes, therefore we need to buy the DVDs or download all episodes to watch that show, and that it won't need to be displayed on the sites calendar. So it's also the same from the viewer's point of view; it ended, "why" is irrelevant.
Those show-focused flags are useful for the website, but I wouldn't want to have my shows categorized by them. Ivo's idea for categories would suffice for most users, myself included (and I consider myself a power-user).

Inappropriate? We are working on a feature that will allow each user to create his own folders, so I guess it solves that problem.

This is good but in Myanimelist.net the Watching, completed,on hold and dropped sections are perfect. Fixed sections is a easy way for have predefined actions:
"In Current Watchin" or "On Hold": Add episodes automatically
"Dropped" or "Completed" Not
