on passenger, will new relic wake up a sleeping site?
We host quite some small informational sites for customers that don't get a lot of visits. Since passenger times-out processes(sites) after 10 minites, we can host many of those sites on a small server, since at any time, at most one third of the sites is 'active' (as in - visited in the last 10 minutes). Will using new relic on those apps interfere with this behavior?
What will happen if some site isn't visited for a week? Will it wake up every x minutes to report there were no hits? Or will I just not get any information for that app in my weekly email?
Thanks,
Mathijs

Inappropriate?Hi Mathijs,
We run background data reporting threads in the passenger processes. However, once passenger tells those processes to quit, our reporting thread quits too. So, to answer your question, we will not cause a passenger instance to spin up.
