NewsGator Online Syncing issues

Many of my feeds don't correctly sync with NewGator Online: some are ignored for months while others replay daily. I want to keep using NGO syncing because it works so nicely with the iPhone version of NetNewsWire but these problems haven't been fixed after reports starting in 2006 or so.

As an example, I just turned off newsgator syncing in NNW (Mac) and went from zero to 48 unread items, the earliest of which was an item posted in February.
