Closed unassigned issues shouldn't count
when you close a bug without it being asigned, it remains in the unasigned list. the best behaviour in my opinion would be that it doesn't count to the unasigned list, cause typically you close an unassigned issue when its dismissed.

Inappropriate? This is by design. The unassigned issues link simply links to the page filtered by assignee where the issue is unassigned. We chose not to add any additional filters.
However, I do understand the dilemma. It sounds like a more likely solution would be to say "This project has 3 active unassigned issues." Then the link would be "3 active unassigned issues" and we could filter the list and limit it to active issues. (Open, Reopened, Resolved)
Does that sound like it would solve the problem?
I’m thankful for the feedback
