Inappropriate?You can think of resolved as "fixed" and closed as "approved" or "fix accepted". Meaning, just because an issue has been corrected, doesn't mean that the solution is what the opener intended. So, in some cases, you can go straight from open to closed, but you generally want to have a layer of quality assurance.
