Eliminate's power cells are way too expensive.
Eliminate is a great game.. for the most part... but the cost of extra power cells is just ridiculous, especially since they're so essential to gameplay. I know that maintaining global matchmaking servers is expensive, but $30 for 935 power cells? Seriously? Remember that it takes 15 power cells for a recharge, and a full recharge gives you 3 games. That means that for $30, you get 85 recharges and 255 games. That may sound like a lot, but remember that each game only takes 2 minutes or so. The free recharges are useless, because you have to wait 2-3 hours for each one, and each one only gives you one game. Also, because of this, anyone who pours money into this game will be able to level up and rocket to the top of the leaderboards much faster than those who don't.
Anyway, now that I've finished my rant, I have 2 questions:
1. Why are power cells so expensive?
2. Wouldn't it have made more sense to charge for the game, and have power cells be less expensive or even free? I would gladly pay $10 for this game if I knew I could play it as much as I wanted without having to wait 2-3 hours between games.

Inappropriate? What is up with the energy costs in Eliminate?! Seriously this is ridiculous! $1 for 20 power cells. That is only 5 sessions! The other upgrade packages don't help your budget much either.
I mean if the packages were better I would consider buying them. If I could get 100 sessions (400 power cells) for $1 I'd pay. But 5 sessions?!!! Are you kidding me? Ngmoco, if you want my money, improve the frickin' energy packages. Right now they're stupid.
And improve the damn suit recharge time. I'd like to see the energy be recharged fully for free 3 times a day. And none of this recharge-4-out-of-12 bars at a time! I want 12 out of 12 done 3 times a day!
And make your packages divisible by 4 if your are going to take 4 energy bars a session (better still take one energy bar a session so 1 power cell = 1 energy bar = 1 session and we don't have to deal with this divide by 4 stuff and then everyone is able to recharge less). I mean it's great you get 30 power cells off the bat but I can't play 7.5 sessions. What are the remaining 2 power cells for?
When I see an option for 975 cells for $30 I think you guys are dumb as hell. Oh boy I get to pay $30 for 243.75 sessions!! That's only $0.13 a session (at the cheapest) for less than 5 minutes of play. In those 5 minutes, at least as a beginner, you might get 80 credits if you play well and win. At that rate you need to play 62.5 games to get enough credits for the Elite armor design. That's roughly 1/4 of the $30 you pay for 243.75 sessions which equates to $7.5 for ONE stupid suit design. The $7.5-suit design costs more than most full-fledged games in the App store! Make the prices cheaper!
I'd love to see something like $0.05 (or cheaper) for 1 power cell = 1 session at all quantity purchases. Then for $10 you get ~1000 minutes of play (assuming 5 minute sessions) which I think is fair for an iPhone game. That's 1 cent/minute. Right now we're dealing with 2.46 cents/minute which is $24.6 for 1000 minutes of play (16 2/3 hours). A FPS like a $50 Halo game I'd say could EASILY give someone 50 hours of play ($1 per hour). Here the cheapest we would pay is about $1.5 per hour ($24.6 for 16 2/3 hours of play). THIS GAME IS NOT 1.5 TIMES AS VALUABLE AS HALO IN ANY WAY. This is an iPhone game with 1995 era graphics, 5 tiny levels, and no where near as deep as Halo. It should not cost anywhere near this much to play. Fix this!
I want ~5 minute sessions and I want my overall costs to be $0.01/minute or less. I will not pay for this if those conditions aren't met. I'm pretty sure the math I did is both fair and correct. Giving ngmoco $10 for 16 2/3 hours of play seems fair since that seems like what most got from the Rolando games when they were new.
I’m pretty miffed!
-
dude, chill. don't go off and get pissed off. it's just a game, no offense, but stop being so harsh, it's 99 cents for a recharge, and you buy the ipod touch for 199 dollars whereas you need to buy halo for 40 dollars and the console which costs 300 dollars. don't expect a multimedia portable device to have amazing game play and graphics like the 360. Ngmoco put some hard work into this and are trying to bend the rules and making the recharge time faster. They're doing this for free (except for the RARELY bought in app purchases and other Ngmoco games.) So don't complain. jeez. cool down -
Inappropriate? You have a point, get a subscription NGMOCO or people will just rather sit at home playing a free game on ps3, or a xbox live game with one subscription cost with unlimited play.
I’m shattered.
-
Inappropriate?^^ I agree that a subscription might help solve the problem but I'd much rather see a flat, one-time fee of $10 to keep things simple. I don't see me paying much more than that for this game (for however long I play it) whether it is a flat-fee, subscription, or in-app purchase.
I'm not sure if this holds for all matches since I've only been able to play around 8 sessions for free where I got credits but from those 8 sessions it seems like when I did really well (10 kills and all that) I only got about 80 credits or so. If that is a good average of credits/per session then to complete the game (and by my math you need about 32,500 credits just to purchase and NOT upgrade everything) you'd need to play 406.25 games at a total cost of about $52. I'm sure upgrading everything would probably add another $20 or so to that.
ngmoco, if you want people to play (a lot of people and not just die-hards), you need to make this cheaper. I don't see people paying $70 for this. Perhaps make it easier to get a lot of credits as well.
I really want this game to succeed. I feel like this could be a must-have for the iPhone and a killer-app for the platform but ngmoco really needs to keep the costs down and make the purchasing mechanism simple. In-app purchases are really complicated for something as simple as an iPhone app.
<sarcasm>Good news though, after FOUR HOURS I can play another game for credit!</sarcasm>
I’m still pretty miffed.
-
Inappropriate?A better measure of the outrageous prices in this game is the option to trade in 120 power cells for 1,000 credits. If you bought the cheapest power cell/$ pack (975 for $30) by my math 120/975 = x/30 solve for x, x = $3.6923 for 1000 credits. Then to purchase everything: 32,500/1000 = 32.5 credit packs at $3.6923. So, if you just wanted to buy everything by buying power cells and then selling 120 for 1,000 credits you'd pay $120. Keep in mind ngmoco, that's without upgrading anything.
$120!!! THAT IS FUDGING RIDICULOUS!!! I believe if you add up how much you'd pay to upgrade everything too you could probably buy a Nintendo Wii ($199) instead. Or an iPhone (16 GB subsidized)!! When the game costs as much as the platform you might want to rethink your prices.
Also, 120 power cells = 30 games = 1,000 credits. That's 1,000 credits/30 games or 33 1/3 credits/game. Not all that much worse than what I get by winning considering it saves you the ~5 minutes * 30 games = 150 minutes/60 minutes per hour = 2.5 hours.
I’m getting ripped off.
-
Inappropriate?Alright, this is a complete waste of time and money. I was finally able to play a match again and I timed it. Not even 3 minutes for a session!! With 3 minute sessions this game is even more of a rip-off. ngmoco, you guys can go ahead and change my math for me; keep everything in the 1 cent per minute ratio. This game is a waste. It could still be good but the pricing is stupid. $41.03 for 1000 minutes of play. No thanks. You know what, I'll do the math. $30 = 975 power cells; 975 power cells = 243.75 sessions (at 4 power cells per session); 243.75 sessions at 3 minutes each = 731.25 minutes of play.
At this rate the HOURLY RATE NGMOCO IS CHARGING TO PLAY: $2.46 ($30/731.25 minutes) if you played 20 games an hour
How much money needed to buy everything (no upgrades) by playing: $50
THIS ASSUMES WINNING WITH 80 CREDITS PER GAME!! So $50 is a very low estimate.
How much money needed to buy everything (no upgrades) selling power cells for credits and not playing: $120
Everyone out there: protest this pricing. Feel free to check my math and numbers. I feel that I represented the actual game to the best of my ability and if my math is wrong tell me and I'll correct it. Winning 80 credits a game is an overestimate, playing a session for 3 minutes is an overestimate. If anything, I underestimated how much a lot of this will cost if you truly want to enjoy the game.
For a copy of Halo (brand new at $50) you get unlimited play in a quality console game with much higher production values. For $50 in Eliminate Pro you'd get 20 hours. For what the game should cost ($10) you'd get 4 hours.
Make the game cheaper to play and make it easier to buy and upgrade stuff (whether you make prices cheaper or increase credits earned or both).
NGMOCO WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSE?
I’m probably done with this game...
-
who says you need to beat the game in a week? you can just wait, that's the fun, so that you dont just go blasting through the game and finishing it. WOW. what have i accomplished after playing 24/7 for a week. If you are a hardcore gamer like that............... my opinion is to get a life................. -
Inappropriate?Yeah, it's expensive. But there are a few things to consider:
1. The service is excellent
2. You can still play after your cells run out, you just don't get equipment upgrade cash, and
3. Energy recharges on its own.
It is true we get very little charge per time. I personally would like to see something like
1. Energy recharges on its own faster (like, a match every 4 or even 3 hours) or energy counts for more games, in exchange for
2. You can't play online (and ONLY online, not no network play or anything) until your next recharge after you go 10 games without charge, and
3. Keep up with the promotions for energy cells.
Keep in mind this is a fully functioning FPS for free. The cell cost is to cover server costs and turn a profit, and you can still play to little disadvantage if you ignore your lack of energy. It'd be nice to have them a bit fairer, though, and I'm assuming the 4 energy-per-game thing is because the servers aren't completely ready get and to allow flexibility in later energy adjustments. The session costs are several times more expensive than WoW at the moment, true, and it needs to be toned down.
NGmoco, this is an excellent game and you are to be commemorated for it. We eagerly await tuning of this energy system (primarily so we can play more for free :P).
I’m using this system to stop me from procrastinating, but 4-5 hours for another full-featured session is ridiculous.
-
Inappropriate?I like Barcode771's response. Yes, it would be expensive to buy lots of upgrades in this game. But that's like going to pub where you can socialise, play darts and eat complimentary peanuts at the bar all for free and then complaining that you have to pay to drink the beer.
I agree it could (should) be tuned a bit as they figure it out - but you have to admit they have us right where they want us :) It's a genius use of in-app purchasing and ngmoco are a business: they are here to make money by entertaining you, not here to give you all their work for free. -
Inappropriate? For me, it's frustrating. I play my 3 games and I'm left wanting more!
I see little point in playing it for no reward, all it does is up you skill and makes it harder to win when you do have energy as you are against harder players! It almost punishes you for not having energy. It also makes it less enjoyable, as those 3 games are crucial for levelling up and even if you muck up on one, that's a third of your quota gone for little to no reward and it's VERY frustrating...
I have some (im hoping) reasonable fixes that are simple to do and I think will work, just hear me out ok ngmoco! I have noticed your lack of comments in this thread and I can only hope your listening in to your loyal fanbase! Anyway:
1. Make a full recharge last 12 games, not 3 as I honestly feel like I'm being conned and expected to pay for energy every time I run out. Which, if I did once every day, would cost me £180 a year just to play a game on my mobile phone!
(xbox live is £30 a year with no limitations to gameplay time)
2. Give everyone a full recharge once a day, none of this slow recharge over time, it's annoying having to wait 3 hours for a single fleeting game. It's just not happening for me!
3. Make the 20 power cell pack cheaper if you can. As it is the most popular. I do have a suspition apple won't allow a lower price than 59p, and if that's true, give people more cells for that price. Maybe, the equivalent of 24 games? That way, people can store them for later use and not see their money fly out the window as soon as they let go of it!
Finally, a word of understanding.
As with all these posts, we all want it cheaper at no benifit to you, the game maker. I know you at ngmoco have made it all at a specific price so that you can keep a steady income for those expensive servers. So, to even it out, I suggest getting the money elsewhere by putting premium content up to buy. Stuff like map packs, custom paint jobs, weapon skins, exclusive armour, even soundtracks, strategy guides and tee shirts! Anything, because I would actually pay for a weapon skin over power cells. That's what people crave, indeviduality, everyone wants their player model to look unique to everyone elses, and it can with a custom paint job! People also want more content to play with, and a £4.99 map pack of 5 would be very welcome!
Please read and think about these comments ngmoco. =] I made it as reasonable and thoughtful as I could! -
Inappropriate?I think the model is not good. Game Free and in App Purchases... I mean it would be better following this model but making recharges cheper. THIS IS SIMPLY STUPID!
1 dollar to play about 5 minutes! This is crazy! At the end we will be paying more than buying a full game not even in the app store but a normal physical game in a PSP o DS.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Sell in app purchase that gives me unlimited power sells. I can pay 5€ for that or more
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?I waited 12 hours for my energy to fully recharge, i played through my schools wifi connection, and it disconnected.
I went into a game 2 more times not earning any credits.. Then was it i realized i'd spent all my energy on NOTHING.
Thanks for nothing.
I’m wishing that they would make power cells cheaper.
-
At least, u lost connection. I cancelled it while it was looking for players to answer a call elsewhere and the energy got deducted too!!! -
Inappropriate? What I think ngmoco should do is let players who get first place keep all their energy after the match, giving more incentive to do well rather than being a credit monger running around and "stealing" credits. It would add a lot more competitiveness in my opinion and I hope they are really paying close attention to the users of eliminate.
I’m unsure
-
I agree. Perhaps half energy for second and quarter for third? -
Inappropriate? When a game disconnects, you lose energy. This is fine, but it doesn't take that much to suck all that energy up. 2 plays of eliminate / day or pay $$ to play the game and essentially waste money cause you could spend the exact same $$ to play a console / pc game with better graphics, gameplay and free online play.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I agree, the gameplay in this game is great but it is a huge ripoff that you have to pay enormous amounts of money to get the full fuctionallity out of this little dinky portable device game.
NGMOCO.... If you want to make money on this game this isnt the way to do it. If you would simply charge $10 for the app and allow unlimited use of the app I think you would see even more of a profit and this would make everyone happy. For those who just want a free experience just make a free version that you can do everything except earn credits.
Short Version -- Make the app $10 for unlimited use.
I’m really upset, this has turned into a not so good gaming experience.
-
Inappropriate?I think your pay model is innovative and impressive. I really want to support your game, but I'm not really comfortable with the amounts that you're charging. I'd love to send you guys some money, but I don't want to send the message that your pricing works. There are plenty of ways for me to get more than 15 minutes of play for $.99 in the App Store. I'd love to add your game to that list.
Summary: I want to give you money. I can't because my money is my vote.
I’m patient.
-
Inappropriate? Why would they need so much money to keep the servers running and get SOME profit? They don't (either enough money, or some)! Consider how many 1995 era graphic servers you could run on a $600 computer (which would be an average computer as far as I know) in this era. Think of the max games that were run in the first month all at once. Then divide max games all at once by games per server. Then think of how much money it would cost to repair it when things break (most of the time ever few YEARS).
I don't know any of the variables because I'm not a professional about it, but I do think that the out come is that they aren't getting their money's worth to repair and gain profit, and we just aren't getting our moneys worth because they are either toxicly afraid of change or they just hate the people and love their money. So, either way we need to boycott the power cell purchases (change), and then they will give us what we want!
I’m so pizzed I could eat a CEO
-
Inappropriate?Yes.... the power cells do cost a lot. However, you people who expect them to lower the price to essentially nothing are living in a dream world. Ngmoco does need to make money, and in order to do that they are doing a system where, if you want to be able to level up, you have to buy power cells. They do need enough money to run the servers and stuff like that, and yes, they probably have 2-3 times the amount needed, but they also need to make a profit or we don't get any more awesome games. If you want to level up.... that is.... if you want to.... You don't have to.... You could simply play for fun.... It's an awesome game, and free too. They are not going to lower the price to something like "unlimited for $5." I've actually read a review in the app store that said the person would be willing to pay "that much" if he got unlimited power cells when, in reality, 5 dollars isn't nearly as much as the app store makes it out to be. The way prices have been going in the app store is making people expect the best of the best for 99 cents, and that shouldn't be happening. I admit, the power cells are a bit overpriced, but not by much. They could bump up the $1 package to 70-100 or something, and lower the $40 to $25 or $30, but at the moment i'm perfectly content with what we have.
The pay-to-play model they're using is ingenious. You get an awesome game for free, and if you want to level up and become totally badass then you can fork out some moola. The game did just release though, and I expect to see the prices go down in the future. They've already made quite a bit off me :p.
Just a side note: When you buy credits with the power cells I think you should get at least 1.5x - 2.0x the amount they give now. Yes, I know, I don't have to play the approximately 15-20 games required to get them, but still. The 1000c should be bumped up to about 1500-1600 in my opinion.
All in all, I think the game is simply awesome, and the pay-to-play is a (optional) fun twist......
I hope those of you wanting $.99 unlimited power cells (and the rest of you who want everything super cheap) now feel enlightened ;)
Xanadeath -
Inappropriate?Eliminate is on the Top Grossing list in the App Store. They are making boatloads of money from this. The price is not going to drop.
I’m frustrated and poor.
-
Inappropriate?i don't like the idea that you have to wait 240 minutes just for 1/3 of your energy. It's true that in order for you to be the best of all you have to make yourself to the top, but paying that much money it's just not worth it unless you're that desperate and don't care how much money you waste.
My suggestion: the current $29.99 which gives you 975 power cells or an estimate of approximately 8,000 credits should be lowered to $9.99.
Also, instead of giving you 975 power cells for $9.99 together be included a bonus of 8,000 credits. Make this exciting ngmoco but don't think we would be like the little kids sitting right in front of the television listening to the funny clown saying : "you see the green papers inside you father's wallet or mother's purse, take some out, and mail it to this address, but sshh... don't tell your parent, lets keep it a secret, between you and me. Can i trust you?"
Sorry but that's the sad reality when you think with a mature mind.
I’m feeling happy. There's still room for hope
-
Inappropriate?Let's see. Far as I can read it the only truly constructive thing so far is to charge for custom items or expansion which seems highly reasonable. Charging for the power cells is also reasonable (as anyone in stat gameplay like iMob or Racing Live will tell you). The charge fir power cells doesn't affect the majority of players. Most won't pay for them either as we can all see. If it's free it rocks. Besides, the app store has toms and tons of ges on offer and there's little to distinguish the good games from the bad ones. Making it free and this good got them exposure and people to promote it for them. Then later once the market is looped in I wouldn't be surprised to see them offer free credits/power cells/change the model on purchases to loop in more people and keep veterain players happy. Just be patient.
I see the model they're going on now and I think it's a good one. U essentially get Quake 3 level deathmatch gameplay (or at worst halflife 1). And for FREE. I'm not saying it's perfect but that's pretty damn good.
By the way, a server is one thing, nework connectivity and making sure storage is up to par as well as ensuring the servers have adequate netspeed going on upload is a huge undertaking and VERY costly to set up/support/maintain with minimal downtime. This isn't a stat based game entirely, only in part. With the kind of traffic this game will generate in short order I think it's reasonable to expect them to charge for something.
I'd like to see:
1) bot options for adding bots or changing skill level. They duck behind walls and camp. I'd like them to come find me, or be able to up the pace.
2) as already mentioned, I don't care about the paying for charge cells, but I would like to see at most a 2 hour duration for only a one game charge. I'd love to play a round before work, one on my fifteen min breaks, and one after work. If even at the sacrifice of credits, say 75% of what I'd normally get in one game as is.
3) I second the idea of rewarding players by allowing them to keep a percentage of their energy, just the bad ones. I think they would need the practice more whereas a good player already is good if they won. Would give a noob more time to catch up/incentive to get past their skill wall rather than kick the game to the curb when they get blasted off the map/ get no kills.
Just a reminder guys, it's two of these but never three: good, fast, cheep. -
That applies to cars, not programs. Good is reliable. :P -
Inappropriate?I've decided. Pay for enhanced play is genius and extremely fair, but the charges-per time and/or the charges-per-game need to be watched for tweaking, as does power cells-per-games.
I’m decided

Inappropriate? It would be nice if tyey gave us up to 150 powercells per week for free.
I’m indifferent

-
Inappropriate?please make the games longer!!!! i waste all my energy in 12 minutes or so.
I’m upset
-
Inappropriate?I think a good solution to this would be either:
1. A monthly subscription of unlimited energy for a certain price.
2. Make the game $4.99-$9.99 on the App Store.
I’m willing to help
-
Inappropriate?I agree it does cost quite a bit to get power cells, $90 come on that's ridiculous ngmoco:) for a game? make it cheaper but I'm not stupid and know you can't make it as cheap as most of these people want but come on maybe like $20-$50?
I’m indifferent
-
Inappropriate?you have to realize that the game is free. But really ngmoco tries to trick you if you need some cash. For instance trade 15 power cells for 100 credits. that's ridiculous because if you're a good player, you can get 80 credits in one session not to mention the almost 4 you trade away. ngmoco please stop scamming us and make an option to trade credits for power cells.
-
Inappropriate?I recently purchased 290 power cells for 10 euros and now I have used them all. Payed 10! EUROS and now I cant even play 4 games in a row and still receive credits.
Its not that the power cells are a little bit too expensive, there are wayyyyyy to expensive. If other Iphone games have normal prices why cant Elimite have normal prices. Even if you pay 32 euros you don't get unlimited cells 32!! EUROS what more do you want!!
Power cells should get a massive price drop and buying power cells should result into much higher charges rates.
I’m unhappy
-
Inappropriate?I still think pay to drop re-gen times is the best model... or sell a paid version with faster re-gen times... and once you are fully recharged it should continue recharging up to a certain limit so that people aren't logging in every 4 hours to play one game and can enjoy 8-10 games in one go...
-
Inappropriate?More promos, faster re-gen times, lower the prices and then I will play the game but right now I'm frustrated because I have to wait 4 hours after playing for 2.5 minutes and earned 45 credits
I’m ANGRY
-
Inappropriate?i agree with Andrew Lee, we should be able to trade credits for power cell.
-
Inappropriate?as many users have said, i'm barely able to play 15 minutes a day. many of us don't have credit cards as well - the reason why we got this game was because it was free.
It's understandable that you need to earn a profit, and there are definitely server fees and all that to take care of. However, the prices are ridiculous and the recharge time is too long.
I'd like to see an energy bar refilled every 5 minutes. Just a single bar. a game every 20 minutes for free sounds fair.
And when buying the energy packs - they should be at least 5x more per dollar.
I’m annoyed at eliminate pro
-
Inappropriate?Alright, i have wasted 12,77 Euro (420 Powercells) on Elimination, which is my personal limit for this game. I still have some Power Cells left, but when they are gone, i ́ll probably just delete this app.
Why? Well, for starters it seems like u used the Q3 Sourcecode to get ur game going, there are reports Q3 Maps are working with the Elimination Engine. Second, a game like this on a small portable device isnt worth continuous pay. I would have payed a one time fee, even it would be, say, 20 Euros for unlimited play.
Come on ngmoco, the current model is just a rip off. Let ́s hope for the Jailbreak Community to release some free Quake 3 Port on the iPhone. :)
I’m angry
-
Inappropriate?I think so too. Also there should be an option to redeem the credits from your game and then use the energy. Several times I didn't get anything because the app crashed or the wifi briefly faltered. Other times I suddenly was called to help my mom do something and ended up wasting the game. Also your energy should recharge when leveling up.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?ngmoco have just given everyone a 4x energy recharge rate for a limited time in celebration for mw2 =D
Does anyone know how long this will last?
They should keep it this way!!
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?Only for today i guess, but i hope they consider keeping it that way, or at least reduce it from 4 to 2 hrs. Tried to vote with my wallet and bought another Power Cell Package, which i didnt intend to do and wouldnt have done without this faster energy recharge.
Let ́s see if the company listens to their customers in return.
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?dam, reading up on this game as made me stay up to 1am, i have work tomorrow.
Sick game, still getting use to the controls.
Sleep time!
I’m tired
-
Inappropriate?I don't understand the complaint. The power cells are NOT necessary to play the game! They are only necessary to earn credits towards upgrades. I've been playing the game a LOT since downloading it (more than I care to admit), but I haven't spent a penny yet. I'm fine to just keep playing and enjoying the game, while slowly upgrading as my energy naturally recharges.
If you want to constantly upgrade and shoot up the rankings, then spend the money. If you just want to play a cool game, don't pay. Why is this so offensive?
I’m amused
-
I totally understand what your saying, it's just some people like to play with a purpose, like there working towards something (without having to pay for it). You know? It's like playing an xbox game without saving. You never get anywhere =P -
Inappropriate?Come on guy's, this is ridiculous you want us to pay for every energy recharge. The game is great. THe idea of trying to put Halo on the go it wonderful. But the revenue structure sucks and you all will end up missing out on a lot of great business. Build the game for the long hall. Not for a quick buck. Charge a flat rate then as you gane more subscribers add more to it. Shit when the Iphone 4gs comes out and they add that new Nividia Tegra Processor to the Itouch and Iphone higher graphics then upgrade the game. This game is hot but your cash flow structure is not and I for see that as being this games down-fall. Just another could of, would of should of, been great game. Word of mouth marketing is the best and once the word gets out and people figure out that this game cost more then buying a new game for xbox360 or PS3.... Then it will not be worth the investment. WE ARE NOT STUPID CONSUMERS!!! We control the market.

I’m Great! Your NOT!

I agree, I thought at first that their model was based on advertisement revenue so I guess I am a fool. I honestly thought that when I purchased the $29.99 "iTunes" package I was purchasing $29.99 of credit for music and movies on iTunes for which iTunes would have given a small kick-back to ngmoco. When I found out this was not the case, I did feel like I was made a fool of. I would rather go out and by a new XBOX now and play HALO for free as long as I'd like. I feel I have been taken advantage of as I honestly felt that when I clicked on the iTunes logo button I was purchasing "iTunes" credit.... What a fool I was, but that's the last time. If I play now, it's for free, I'll never purchase another credit or power cell. The cost is ridiculous. -
Inappropriate?I love this game however I can not afford the ridiculous pricing. I am no longer going to pay until ngmoco aggressively revisits their pricing structure. I would happily pay for the game (one time fee) or a yearly subscription that is priced within reason. NGMOCO please listen to your customers and revisit your pricing! It is actually insulting to think that we would pay so much for a game, granted it is one of the best games for the iphone but I don't think in this economy that people will be paying what you are currently asking. Until the pricing is fixed I am not playing and recommending that my friends not play also.
I’m frustrated because your pricing structure is ridiculous.

Inappropriate?Ngmoco, please respond. I'm interested to see what you have to say about this.
-
I second that. Ngmoco, this is obviously the most pressing issue from your consumers. If you truly do value the input from them, then don't make them wait two weeks to hear a response. -
Inappropriate?NGMOCO.....YOU WILL GET MORE MONEY IF YOU EITHER DROP THE PRICES FOR POWER CELLS ..... OR HAVE FREQUENT SALES ..... BECAUSE MORE PEOPLE WILL BUY THEM !!!
-
Inappropriate?I think that I would play more, if they could give more regen. cells in their free-offers
I’m sad and frustrated

Inappropriate? There are only 2 scenarios where I will pay money for Eliminate: Give more power cells for the money, or lower amount of power cells used per game.
That is all. -
Inappropriate?Come on NGmoco you need to respond to your customers. This is rediculous. Great game terrible pay to play system.
I’m Mad

Inappropriate?Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all your feedback and discussion. I'd just like to say that though we may not respond to every post, that we actively read and discuss every single point of feedback here at ngmoco.
We have though, taken everyone's feedback from here, our email, and everything else and have made changes, most of which you have already seen in game.
This game is an ever evolving title, one that we love dearly, and it will only continue to evolve.
Concerning energy and power cells, we have done multiple things:
1) Reduced power cells needed for a game charge from 5 cells to 4 cells. This is a 20% improvement to cost which we feel supplements the already robust free game experience that is available to *everyone*.
2) We've had multiple special events, the first which reduced game recharge to 30 minutes for the period. The second reduced recharge time to 2 minutes, which effectively meant an unlimited recharge rate for the event period. We'll continue to do events like this to reward our dedicated fan base.
3) Overall, we've reduced the recharge timer to 2 hours per energized game, which effectively allows players to progress through the game twice as fast as before.
Lastly, we've been hard at work on the eliminate 1.1 update, which was teased in our Plus+ newsletter. Here's a link, which was exclusively available to newsletter subscribers: http://eliminate.ngmoco.com/1-1-previ...
Thank you again for your feedback and for acknowledging that this game is ever-evolving. See you on the testing grounds!

Inappropriate? While those are good things, I think i can speak for everyone here...
We like the reduced timers for limited times and the amount of cells needed in a game reduction, I think it is still too much, what would be better could be set events (once a month?) where the recharge time is reduced, and more events that could give skins, (Collect X amount of event power-up). If we got 30 minutes of play time when fully recharged i would be fine.
However as it is people can feel almost bullied into buying more power cells so that they can play a game they dearly love. Most would be willing to play a flat out fee for the the game too. Thank you for your time, i hope you reconsider these issues i have raised.
I’m frustrated
