Blog import
Ning doesn't seem to have any blog import capabilities (blogs from Blogger or else), only a wordpress hack. It would be nice if we could move our Blogger contents to the social service that is Ning. Permalink mapping with custom domain name should be allowed too.

Mark, I don't know if the hack Paul is referring is the authentication plugin or the blog import script.
There used to be a way to import posts from a wordpress blog into a Ning network, see http://web.archive.org/web/2007121420...
I don't think that this import script will still work, because Ning have shut down their public APIs, but if you are still curious I believe there are still copies of it available on the net. -

Inappropriate?also very keen to find a solution for this. Currently have my users between a wordpress site babkubwa.com and my social network - babkubwa.ning.com
Tried to integrate a little through use of rss and the ning wordpress pluging which lets people comment on wordpress blog using their ning id
still all too confusing.
I'm considering redirecting the babkubwa.com to the ning site and dropping the blog - but would rather avoid importing all the posts manually.
Anybody figured out how to do it? sent an email to ning last weel but no reply so far.1 Comment Add a comment

There's a Wordpress Ning App that you can install on your Ning Network, which will allow members to display posts from their Wordpress blogs. We don't support importing Wordpress blogs into your Ning Network's blog yet, but that is something we do really want to add down the road. As someone has built around a dozen WP blogs, I'll do my best to make it happen!
