Broadcasting Messages on Email Account and Network Inbox
I just read that on the near future Ning is going to give HTML messaging to the broadcast messages.
I have a suggestion, why not send the broadcasting messages both on the mail-inbox and network-inbox.
It will make notifying people easier and they will not have login to their email account to get the notification after visiting the original network.
What do you think about this ...?

Inappropriate?Hi Shouvik,
Thanks for the suggestion. This is definitely something we want to try, but it's actually pretty hard to implement. It would mean doubling all broadcast messages across the Ning platform which might change performance. Another issue to work out is how the message would appear in you inbox (ex. Who would the sender be? Could you reply to this message?).
Just wanted to keep you in the loop and let you know we are looking at this possibility.
Thanks again for the feedback.
Cheers!

Wouldn't it follow the set-up for in-network messages in general? In my dream world the sender would be the member who sent the e-mail and it would be possible to reply to it (via e-mail or network inbox, dependent on recipient choice).
I'd wish that for e-mail notifications in general but whatever the case it seems broadcast messages and other e-mail notifications should be handled in the same fashion. Consistency, ease-of-use and all that, you know. -
Why is it hard? The sender is the administrator logged in and why can't your reply? In fact, you can't reply to a broadcast now and this would actually allow them to reply. The only real problem is internal messaging doesn't allow HTML, which is a pain if you want to direct someone to your guidelines or any page. You can't include the link.
Don't see the problem with this and think it is a good idea. Bring it on and allow HTML in internal message. -
Inappropriate?Oh, I didn't know that it would affect the network-performance.
The message would be sent from 'NETWORK Crew' (eg. from Serampore Crew).
Thank you for taking interest in this. We look forward to have this feature on our networks.☺
